Two of the seven Serie A sides to have suffered consecutive defeats at the start of the season, Fiorentina and Torino, look to get their first points on the board.
Fiorentina’s 100th-anniversary celebrations were spoilt by a 3-0 defeat to newly promoted side Frosinone.
The defeat left them with back-to-back losses to begin their Serie A campaign and seven goals conceded.
It is the first time in the club’s history that they have lost their opening two top-flight matches without scoring, making it a particularly difficult start for new head coach Fabio Grosso.
La Viola have also failed to win their last four home league matches, drawing three and losing one while scoring just once.
Conversely, Torino’s difficult start continued on Tuesday as they were eliminated from the Coppa Italia following a 1-0 defeat to Monza.
It was their third consecutive loss, having already suffered 2-1 defeats in both of their Serie A matches against AC Milan and Sassuolo this season.
The run has increased the pressure on new manager Ignazio Abate, who will be desperate to prevent Torino from starting a Serie A campaign with three straight defeats.
