Slovenia Double Chance
Slovenia have made a strong start to their Euro 2024 qualification campaign and having won each of their first two matches in Group H back in March, they look well-equipped to take something from their trip to Finland on Friday. The Finns won their last assignment at Northern Ireland, however, they have won only twice in their last 14 attempts on home soil, and that record pushes us to start our Finland vs Slovenia predictions with a forecast on the visitors in the double chance market.
Both Teams to Score
Slovenia have the right mix of confidence and firepower to extract a positive result from Friday’s test in Helsinki, however, they rarely keep clean sheets on the road and they could concede against Finland. The Slovenians have shut out their hosts just three times in their last 13 away matches, though they did manage to impact the scoresheet themselves in seven of their last nine away tests. With those numbers aligned, a bet on both teams to score seems like a worthy punt here.

Finland
Daniel O'Shaughnessy, Thomas Lam, Robin Lod, Fredrik Jensen, Leo Vaisanen and Marcus Forss are notable absentees from the Finnish squad this week. Keeper Lukas Hradecky, key midfielder Rasmus Schuller and leading marksman Teemu Pukki will all be involved, however.
Predicted Lineup for Finland: Hradecky – Alho, Uronen, Ivanoc, Jensen – Taylor, Schuller, Kamara, Suhonen – Kallman, Pukki
Slovenia
There will be no Jan Oblak between the sticks for Slovenia in Finland this week and their first-choice keeper and team captain will be a big miss. Vid Belec should be handed the gloves in his absence. All eyes will be on wonderkid Benjamin Sesko in the final third.
Predicted Lineup for Slovenia: Belec – Stojanovic, Brekalo, Bijol, Karnicnik – Zajc, Cerin, Lovric, Verbic – Vombergar, Sesko
Player to Watch – Benjamin Sesko
Highly-rated striker will swap RB Salzburg for RB Leipzig this summer and the 20-year-old looks like he has the skills to shine in the German Bundesliga next term. At international level, the centre-forward has scored six times in 19 appearances for Slovenia.
Sesko scored one of his team’s goals when they beat San Marino in March and he managed to net five times in his last seven runouts for Slovenia overall.
Starting Lineups
Official lineups are usually released approximately one hour before kick-off.
