Twente to win

Twente are unbeaten at home in the Eredivisie this season, winning nine of their 12 matches.

Champions League hopefuls Twente and Feyenoord go head-to-head in the Eredivisie this Sunday and we're bringing you our predictions for what should be a close and competitive 90 minutes at De Grolsch Veste.

Twente vs Feyenoord prediction: Will Twente sneak a win?

Key Stats

  • Twente have won two of their last three home games against Feyenoord across all competitions, claiming a 2-1 victory in the Eredivisie last season.
  • Both teams have scored in 60% of Twente's Eredivisie games this season.
  • 75% of Feyenoord's away trips in the league this season have ended with both teams scoring.

Correct score prediction: Twente 2-1 Feyenoord

It was Feyenoord that claimed a 2-1 win in October's reverse league meeting between these two clubs but were backing Twente to come out on top this weekend as the hosts are yet to lose at home this season. Twente score an average of 2.33 goals per game at De Grolsch Veste and only concede an average of 0.67 goals, so you can see why we've backed the hosts to claim a 2-1 victory on Sunday.

Pre-game odds and win probability: Twente the favourite

  • HOME: 24/19 (2.26) – 44.2%
  • DRAW: 13/5 (3.60) – 27.8%
  • AWAY: 21/10 (3.10) – 32.3%

*odds from Ladbrokes, subject to change

Twente are the expected winner of this game with a probability of 44.2% and we tend to agree with the bookmakers on this selection.

Twente preview: Won last weekend

Sunday's hosts haven't been in action since taking on Almere City last weekend in the Eredivisie.

A solitary goal from who else but Sem Steijn proved enough for Twente to claim another three points at home this season. The 23-year-old midfielder has now scored 20 times in the Eredivisie this season, surely bringing him to the attention of Europe's elite football clubs.

Defender Gerald Alders and forward Younes Taha are the only injury concerns for the hosts ahead of Sunday's big game against Feyenoord.

Predicted lineup: Unnerstall (GK), Kuipers, Lagerbielke, van Rooij, Hilgers, Sadílek, Vlap, Booth, Steijn, Lammers & Rots

Feyenoord preview: Eliminated from the Champions League

Feyenoord were up against it from the start on Tuesday night when they made the trip to the San Siro to face Inter Milan for the second leg of their Champions League tie.

The Italians had a two-goal cushion to play with and made the aggregate score 3-0 after just eight minutes. Jakub Moder pulled a goal back from the penalty spot just before the break, but early in the second 45, Inter converted a spot kick of their own to secure a 2-1 win on the night and a 4-1 victory on aggregate.

Not only are the visitors without the suspended David Hancko this weekend, Neraysho Kasanwirjo and Jordan Lotomba have been ruled out due to injury.

Predicted lineup: Wellenreuther (GK), Hancko, Smal, Bueno, Beelen, Read, Moder, Ivanusec, Ueda, Hadj Moussa & Sliti

Player to watch: Sem Steijn

We've selected Twente star Sem Steijn as our player to watch this weekend as we see him as a possible match-winner on Sunday.

Steijn raised eyebrows when he scored 15 times in the Eredivisie for ADO Den Haag during the 2021/22 campaign, earning the midfielder a move to Twente where last season he scored 17 times in 34 league games.

The Twente midfielder is having a phenomenal season

This season, Steijn sits on 20 Eredivisie goals from 24 matches, quite some record, and we're backing the 23-year-old to put in another impressive performance on Sunday against Feyenoord.
