🔥 Our Hot tip

Over 10 corners

The first leg produced eight corners, and with Twente bound to push hard to overturn the tie, while perhaps leaving themselves open to the counter, a high corner count could follow.

A place in the third round of Europa League qualifying is up for grabs on Thursday, when Ferencvaros welcome Twente to Budapest for the second leg of their second-round tie.

The hosts have a one-goal lead to defend after managing a narrow victory in last week's away leg in the Netherlands.

Ferencvaros head into the second leg of their Europa League qualifying tie with a lead to defend and home advantage on their side as they bid to continue their run towards the league phase.

A second-placed finish in Hungary's top flight in 2025-26 earned them a place in the first round of qualifying, as they earned 68 points from 33 matches, recording 21 wins while scoring a league-high tally of 67 goals.

The Zoldek have enjoyed a perfect record on the continent thus far, firstly meeting Vojvodina and winning both legs to secure a 5-1 aggregate victory, culminating in a 3-0 home triumph, before visiting Twente for last week's first leg in the second round and winning 2-1 thanks to goals from Lenny Joseph either side of half time.

Their winning streak came to an end at the weekend, though, as Balazs Borbely's team kicked off their league campaign and lost 4-2 away at Paks, despite twice taking the lead in the first half through Bamidele Yusuf and Endre Botka.

Now likely to return to the starting XI that prevailed in the Netherlands, Ferencvaros will hope to build on their lead and record another European win to book their place in the next round of qualifying.

The visitors, meanwhile, head to Budapest with work to do to turn round the tie and keep their Europa League hopes alive.

A fourth-placed finish in the 2025-26 Eredivisie was enough to earn Twente entry into Europa League qualifying in the second round, having enjoyed a pleasing away record as they only lost three of 17 games on the road, earning 26 points from those matches.

They set out to build on a positive showing in Europe's secondary competition last season, in which they entered in the league phase and qualified for the knockout round playoff, only to fall short against Bodo/Glimt in an eventual 6-4 aggregate defeat after extra time of the away second leg.

John van den Brom's side levelled last week's home leg – their first competitive game of the season – at a goal apiece in the first half through Aske Adelgaard, only to fall behind late on, leaving them with a mountain to climb.

Twente will now bid to overturn the deficit and prevail in Hungary to book their spot in the third round of qualifying and move closer to a return to the Europa League league phase.

Whispers predicts: Ferencvaros 1-1 Twente (Ferencvaros win 3-2 on aggregate)

Twente head to Budapest needing to win on the night to progress in qualifying, and while we see them scoring, the Dutch outfit may leave themselves open to be countered, while Ferencvaros have shown their quality in their first three European outings this season. We fancy Both Teams to Score at 4/7 (1.57).

Twente failed to keep Ferencvaros front man Lenny Joseph quiet on home soil, and the Haiti international should again get opportunities to hit the visitors given the state of the tie. He is priced at 5/2 (3.50) to score anytime and make it four goals for the season in Europa League qualifying.

The first leg produced eight corners in Twente, and with the second leg likely to be more open with the visitors coming on strong, we anticipate a high corner count. Over 10 corners is priced at 6/4 (2.50).
