After finishing just four points away from the European places last season, Everton have decided to stick with the tried and trusted David Moyes.
He got a warm reception on his return to the club, and has helped stabilise it after a couple of relegation-threatened campaigns.
Moyes has been backed with four new signings so far in the form of Merlin Rohl, Tyrique George, Hayden Hackney and Christian Norgaard, while Jordan Pickford has returned from World Cup duty with England.
Everton have no fresh injury concerns ahead of this clash, so will likely field a strong team in the hope of gaining some momentum before facing Palace.
The same cannot be said for Newcastle, who will be missing Anthony Elanga, after he was subject to a bad challenge in their 2-1 win over Valencia last time out.
Bruno Guimaraes has also officially joined Arsenal, but new arrivals Sean Steur, Bazoumana Toure, Aladji Bamba, Ewen Jaouen and Lukas Hornicek are all in line to feature.
The summer has been turmoil for the Magpies, who have also seen Anthony Gordon and Sandro Tonali leave, as well as manager Eddie Howe.
Matthias Jaissle is the new man in the dugout, and he will be hoping for a confidence-boosting performance with Liverpool set to visit St. James' Park on the Premier League's opening weekend.

In terms of player betting, Yoane Wissa to score anytime at 6/4 (2.50) also appeals after his brace against Valencia.
Overall, we are predicting a 1-1 draw, which is available at 13/2 (7.50).
