Man City to win

Everton have won just six of their 17 league matches at the Hill Dickinson Stadium this season.

Everton will take on Manchester City on Monday, 4 May, in a monumental match in the Premier League title race.

After Arsenal's emphatic 3-0 win over Fulham on Saturday, a response is needed from Man City, with goal difference now firmly in play.

The match is also a big one for Everton, who are still very much in the race for European football despite a sketchy run of form.

While this is a big match for both clubs, it's difficult to argue that it isn't more important for the visitors, who must win to keep the title race in their own hands as we enter the final month of the season.

Arsenal's win over Fulham means that there are now six points and four goals separating the two teams at the top, but City do have two games in hand, of which this is one.

Making up four goals in two matches isn't a mountain to climb for any team with Erling Haaland in it, but there is an argument that a one-goal away win on Monday wouldn't be seen as a bad result for the league leaders, whose remaining fixtures are more forgiving than City's.

For all their good work to get back into the title race, this isn't a vintage Man City side, so Guardiola is unlikely to push the boat out for a big win. After all, have only won by a margin of two or more goals in one of their last seven league outings.

In terms of squad selection, Guardiola confirmed in his press conference that Rodri is yet to return to training but stopped short of ruling him out. Josko Gvardiol and Ruben Dias remain in the treatment room.

As for Everton, they will be desperate for a good performance and a positive result on Monday after the horrors of their last match at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.

A 101st-minute winner from Virgil van Dijk gave Liverpool victory in the first-ever Merseyside Derby at the Hill Dickinson, and the Toffees followed that up with another late defeat on the road against West Ham.

Time is running out for David Moyes' side to finish inside the top eight and secure a place in Europe next season, but if they can shock Manchester City on Monday, then they will be right back in that conversation.

Moyes is set to recall Beto to his squad for the visit of City after the striker cleared concussion protocol, but Jack Grealish (who would have been ineligible anyway) and Jarrad Branthwaite remain injured.

Whispers predicts: Everton 1-2 Man City

Everton's poor form in recent weeks, combined with Man City's historic form at this stage of the season, points us firmly towards an away win on Monday night. Brighton to win the match has been best priced at 1/2.

More than two goals have been scored in four of Man City's last five matches in all competitions. Over 2.5 goals has been priced at 8/13

Erling Haaland has rediscovered his shooting boots and has now scored five goals in his last five appearances for Man City. Haaland is priced at 8/15 to score anytime on Saturday.
