After parting ways with Manolo Gonzalez following their disappointing Copa del Rey exit, Espanyol halted their three-game losing streak with a 1-0 win at Villarreal last weekend, led by reserve team coach Sergio Garcia.

Former Elche coach Eder Sarabia has taken charge of the Catalan side on a two-year deal, and his first order of business will be to guide the team to their first home win in almost three months.

Espanyol are 14th in La Liga with a 3-2-6 win-draw-loss record in 11 matches. Seven of those points have come on the road, and they have earned only one point from their last four home games.

While the hosts have a clean bill of health ahead of this clash, Roger Hinojo will serve a one-game suspension due to accumulated yellows. Roberto Fernandez is expected to lead the charge once again. The 24-year-old has six goals in 11 league assignments this season, although he has failed to score in his last five.

On the other hand, Deportivo La Coruna came from behind to beat Osasuna 2-1 on Monday night, following last week's 3-0 victory over Auriense in the Copa del Rey.

Antonio Hidalgo's men will now set their sights on winning three consecutive matches for the first time this season. They are eighth in the Spanish top flight, having earned 14 points from a possible 33.

Bright Ede (hamstring) and Zakaria Eddahchouri (broken wrist) are unavailable for selection. However, the visitors will be boosted by the return of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. The former Barcelona forward has fully recovered from a right knee meniscus injury that kept him out of action since September. He has five goals and two assists in eight La Liga outings this term.

This will be the first encounter between these sides since February 2018. Espanyol are unbeaten in th last five H2Hs and have not lost a home game against Deportivo since June 2007.

Whispers Predicts: Espanyol 2-2 Deportivo La Coruna

Priced at 7/5 (2.40), Espanyol are considered favourites by the bookmakers ahead of this skirmish.

Both teams are just starting to find their stride, and keeping in mind that only one team has drawn more games than Deportivo in La Liga this season, we believe that the spoils will be shared between these outfits after 90 minutes.

Both teams were on the scoresheet in five of Espanyol's last seven matches, six of Deportivo's last eight games, and in three of the last four H2Hs, and this can be backed at 5/6 (1.83).

We also fancy Espanyol to score first at 17/20 (1.85). This landed in four of the hosts' last five fixtures.
