Despite two lacklustre performances at Euro 2024 England find themselves top of Group C with four points from a possible six.
As little as a draw against Slovenia on Tuesday night will be enough for Gareth Southagte's side to book their place in the knockout stage but the worrying thing for the England fans is how negative the tactics and performances have been so far in Germany.
Southgate has a chance to change things up and play more open and attacking football against Slovenia in the final group game but we doubt that he will.

England vs Slovenia prediction: Three Lions to edge past Slovenia
Key Stats
- England have only kept clean sheets in two of their last six attempts.
- Slovenia haven't conceded more than two goals in any of their last six outings.
- Harry Kane opened his Euro 2024 account against Denmark and top scores for England with 64 goals in 93 caps.
Correct score prediction: England 2-1 Slovenia
Despite taking the lead against Denmark through captain Harry Kane, England were unable to defeat the Danes and were very lucky not to lose the match. In addition, both teams have scored in five of Slovenia's last six fixtures, so this will be far from straightforward for the Three Lions.

England preview: Three Lions simply have to improve
Gareth Southgate's side were played off the pitch by a Denmark side that seemed to want to win the game more than England whose fans booed and jeered them at the final whistle following another negative and passionless performance.
Southgate continues to ‘play it safe' by scoring the first goal and then sitting back and hoping to hold out for victory which worked against a lesser side in the form of Serbia but backfired against Denmark who totally controlled the game and should have won.
Predicted lineup: Pickford (GK), Walker, Trippier, Stones, Guéhi, Alexander-Arnold, Rice, Bellingham, Kane, Foden & Saka

Slovenia preview: Great character maintains optimism
The Slovenia players were left devastated as Serbia equalised late on to claim a share of the spoils. right-back Zan Karnicnik looked to have won the game for Slovenia with his 69th-minute effort but Serbia managed to convert from a corner deep into stoppage-time to make the final scoreline 1-1.
This Slovenia side certainly have it in them to test England on Tuesday night but they probably lack the firepower to cause a massive upset and win the game, despite striker Benjamin Sesko being one of the hottest prospects in European football right now.
Predicted lineup: Oblak (GK), Janža, Stojanović, Drkušić, Karničnik, Bijol, Elšnik, Gnezda Čerin, Šporar, Mlakar & Šeško

Player to watch – Harry Kane
England need more from their captain at Euro 2024 where despite scoring against Denmark, Harry Kane was substituted in the second half following another fairly anonymous performance.

Kane was partly at fault for the Denmark equaliser after his wayward pass was intercepted and then finished beautifully from long range. If Kane isn't scoring goals then he needs to be creating chances for the likes of Jude Bellingham, something he hasn't been able to do enough so far at Euro 2024.
England's captain opened his Euro 2024 account against Denmark
After being substituted, we're backing Kane to bring out a big performance against a hard-working Slovenia side that England really should be defeating with ease by scoring and causing the opposition defence problems from the first whistle to the last.
