Sweden are certainly going to be enduring a long summer having failed to qualify for Euro 2024, the same certainly can't be said for Denmark who are in a group alongside England, Slovakia and Serbia.

Denmark vs Sweden prediction: A tight encounter is expected

Key stats

  • Denmark have scored exactly two goals in three of their last five games
  • Sweden have lost their last two away matches
  • De Rod-Hvide have won just one of their last three fixtures

Pre-game odds and win probability: Denmark to make home advantage count

  • Home: 10/11 (1.91) – 52.4%
  • Draw: 13/5 (3.6) – 27.8%
  • Away: 14/5 (3.8) – 26.3%

While there is nothing to separate these two sides on paper in terms of the FIFA rankings, Denmark are who the bookmakers see as the outright favourites, which could be down to home advantage.

We do see Denmark as the favourites as well but won't rule out Sweden finding the back of the net so the BTTS and Denmark to win market could be worth looking into, although we do provide further options on our free betting tips page.

Last five H2Hs: Familiar foes over the years

This will be the 108th meeting between these two Nordic nations who will know each other very well. However, they haven't met since 2020 when Denmark won 2-0 in a friendly and in fact, haven't lost to their opponents since 2015.

Denmark preview: Perfect preparation for Euro 2024

Denmark will be hoping to go a step further than they did at the last Euros when they were knocked out in extra-time by beaten finalist England. This tough match against Sweden will be just what they need to sharpen their skills ahead of a crunch summer.

Predicted lineup: Schmeichel (GK), Kjaer, Andersen, Vestergaard, Damsgaard, Hojbjerg, Eriksen, Delaney, Maehle, Poulsen, Hojlund

Sweden striker Alexander Isak

Player to watch: Alexander Isak

Having missed out on qualification for Euro 2024, Sweden turned to Jon Dahl Thomasson to manage their side and he's set up an exciting three players behind one striker who should be Alexander Isak.

Just had the season of his life

Isak finished the season off having netted 25 goals across all competitions for Newcatsle United so Thomasson must play him in his favoured role of centre-forward to get the best out of his team and star player.

The Swedish intentional was third in the Golden Boot race behind Erling Haaland and Cole Palmer, but his big goal in the Champions League against PSG will live long in the memories of Newcastle fans. Compared to other Swedish strikers, Isak is right up there with the very best given his talent and potential.
