Criciuma take on Fluminese on Friday, 12 July in the next round of Brazilian Serie A fixtures. Both teams sit inside the bottom seven in the league as things stand which makes this somewhat of a relegation six-pointer.
Fluminese, in particular, will be desperate for the three points given they are currently rock bottom on seven points. Criciuma, meanwhile, sit in 14th place but are just four points clear of the relegation zone. A win here could give them a healthy cushion as we reach the halfway point of the campaign.

Criciuma vs Fluminense prediction: Further misery for the visitors
Key stats
- Fluminense have only won one match all season and have picked up just two points in their last ten league games.
- Criciuma are unbeaten in their last four league matches (two wins, two draws).
- Two of Criciuma's last three matches have seen fewer than three goals scored while the same can be said for each of Fluminense's last six.
Correct score prediction: Criciuma 1-0 Fluminense
Fluminense's league form is nothing short of disastrous and it's difficult to see that changing against one of the strongest home teams in the league. Four of Fluminense's last five matches have ended in a 1-0 defeat and there is every chance that will become five of their last six on Friday.
Pre-game odds and win probability: Criciuma backed to win
- HOME: 1/1 (2.00) – 50%
- DRAW: 21/10 (3.10) – 32.3%
- AWAY: 12/5 (3.40) – 29.4%
*odds from Ladbrokes, subject to change
Despite Fluminense's poor form, they haven't been priced as complete underdogs for this fixture. Crirciuma go in as favourites but 1/1 looks like a fantastic price given the contrasting form of the two teams.

Last five H2Hs: Advantage Fluminense
Fluminense supporters should take encouragement over the fact they have a good record against Criciuma in recent years. Criciuma PR preview: Punching above their weight
This is Criciuma's first season back in the Brazilian top-flight and they have fared pretty well so far. A win on Friday could see them move seven points clear of the drop zone which will have them looking upwards for the first time this season, as opposed to over their shoulders.

Player to watch: Matheusinho

At the heart of the Criciuma midfield is Matheusinho. The 26-year-old is the main playmaker in the team and is also their current top scorer in the league this season with four goals to his name. If Fluminense can keep him quiet, they will have a chance.
Back among the goals
After a blistering start to the season, Matheusinho then went through a barren spell in front of goal. However, ended his drought in the club's last match against Vitoria.
