Como have one of the strongest defences in the league and are taking on one of the weakest attacks in Serie A

Como welcome Parma to the Stadio Giuseppe Sinigaglia on Sunday afternoon in their penultimate match of the season.

Since arriving at Como, Cesc Fabregas has overseen their rise from Serie B to Serie A after initially serving as assistant manager during the promotion campaign, helping to end a 21-year absence from the top flight before taking charge as head coach and guiding them into European qualification.

With two games remaining, Como sit sixth in the table and are already guaranteed at least a Conference League place, although a strong finish could still see them push into the Champions League spots.

After 36 league matches, Fabregas’ side have won 18, drawn 11 and lost just seven, sitting only two points behind fourth-placed AC Milan, with a strong finish potentially lifting them into the top four ahead of the final day.

Parma, meanwhile, have done enough to avoid a relegation battle after narrowly surviving last season.

A run of two wins and two draws was followed by back-to-back defeats, including a dramatic 3-1 loss to Roma last time out.

Parma led 2-1 heading into stoppage time but were pegged back by a Devyne Rensch equaliser before being reduced to ten men moments later.

With Parma already a man down, Donyell Malen struck in the 99th minute to complete Roma’s comeback in a chaotic finale.

Despite the heartbreaking loss last time out, they have enjoyed a more successful season this time around and have a steady platform to build on ahead of the 2026-27 campaign.

The success of Como’s historic season has been built on both attacking quality and defensive stability.

They have scored 60 goals this season, the second best attacking record in Serie A, while also conceding just 28 goals, the strongest defensive record in the division.

Parma, by contrast, have struggled for goals with just 27 scored all season, although their defensive record has been more respectable with 12 clean sheets and 45 goals conceded, helping them stay clear of danger.

Como arrive in mixed but competitive form, while Parma have also shown inconsistency but remain competitive enough to avoid a late season collapse.

The hosts’ defensive strength and attacking output make them strong favourites on paper, especially at home where they have been consistent throughout the campaign.
