BTTS and over 2.5 goals

Both teams have scored and more than two goals have been scored in four of Club Brugge's last six fixtures.

Atalanta will look to turn their Champions League playoff tie with Club Brugge around on Tuesday, 18 February when they welcome the Belgian side to the Gewiss Stadium.

Atalanta come into the match 2-1 down on aggregate after Club Brugge's deserved victory last week and we could be in for another cracker this time around.

As part of this week's round of Champions League betting tips, check out our Atalanta vs Club Brugge prediction below.

Atalanta vs Club Brugge prediction: Expect plenty of goals

Key Stats

  • Both teams have scored in six of Atalanta's last ten matches in all competitions.
  • Both teams scored and over 2.5 goals went in last week in the first leg between these two teams.
  • Mateo Retegui has scored nine times in his last ten appearances for Atalanta across all competitions.

Correct score prediction: Atalanta 3-1 Club Brugge

Atalanta were perhaps taken by surprise by the quality shown by Club Brugge last week but they have no excuses to be as ill-prepared this time around given they have now been given a first hand look at the Belgian outfit. Atalanta are a different beast on home soil and should have more than enough quality to turn this tie around without extra time or penalties.

Pre-game odds and win probability: Atalanta start as big favourites

  • HOME: 11/20 (1.55) – 64.5%
  • DRAW: 10/3 (4.33) – 23.1%

Atalanta preview: A team in patchy form

Atalanta aren't in the best of form coming into the match which should give Club Brugge some encouragement. Gian Piero Gasperini's men have won just one of their last six matches in all competitions in a run that has seen their Serie A title hopes fade. Failure to win on Saturday would see their European campaign end prematurely.

Club Brugge preview: A team that has recaptured its form

Atalanta's ropey form is not the only reason why Club Brugge will be optimistic on Tuesday night but their own form is also cause for hope. They are unbeaten in their last four matches (two wins and two draws) and have already shown that they aren't overawed by the big occasion in the Champions League this season. They will fancy the job.

Player to watch: Mateo Retegui

Every season, it feels like Atalanta unearth a superstar and this season, that man is Mateo Retegui. The Italian striker signed for the club from Genoa in the summer and has been excellent so far and is on the verge of leading them to a historic season.

Retegui is currently the top scorer in Serie A with 20 goals while he has netted three times in the Champions League. He will perhaps need to add to that tally tonight if Atalanta are to progress.
