Latest Tips and Predictions for Everton vs Chelsea

Everton narrowly avoided relegation last season and manager Frank Lampard will want to avoid any kind of relegation battle this time around. Chelsea kick-off the new Premier League campaign with high hopes that they can close the gap on Liverpool and Man City and signings like Raheem Sterling will go a long way to making that happen.

Chelsea to Win

Chelsea might have lost their last four trips to Goodison Park but we're confident that this time it will be a different result for the Londoners. Chelsea have by far the stronger of the two squads and a lot fewer injuries to deal with which should put them on track to victory. Everton may have to play Delle Alli up front if Calvert-Lewin fails to recover from an injury he picked up in training, as the other option up front, Rondon, is suspended.

Under 2.5 Goals

Each of the last four meetings between Everton and Chelsea have been tight and tense, producing under 2.5 goals on each occasion, and we're expecting another low-scoring affair in Saturday's evening kick-off in the Premier League. Everton have strengthened in defence with James Tarkowski and during pre-season he has looked like a much-welcomed addition, organising the defence and leading by example so we don't expect Everton to concede many goals in this game.

Can Everton overcome the odds to beat Chelsea?

Everton have been pretty quiet in the summer transfer window so far and their fans will be hoping that Lampard manages to seal a couple more deals before the season starts. Tarkowski came in on a free transfer from Burnley and Vinagre was the next to join on loan from Sporting Lisbon to add competition at left-back. Everton returned to Burnley to sign talented young winger, Dwight McNeil for around £15m-£20m and he made an immediate impact on his debut against Dynamo Kiev, scoring twice.

Everton Predicted lineup – Pickford, Patterson, Tarkowski, Godfrey, Mykolenko, Allan, Doucoure, Iwobi, McNeil, Alli & Gordon

Chelsea splashed the cash to bring in Raheem Sterling from Man City for £50m and also spent a sizable fee on 31-year-old defender, Kalidou Koulibaly from Napoli. Young goalkeeper Gabriel Slonina joined the club from Chicago Fire and will go straight into their development squad. Conor Gallagher returned from a successful loan spell at Crystal Palace and will be hoping he gets the chance to impress the Chelsea fans this season.

Chelsea Predicted lineup – Mendy, Chilwell, Koulibaly, Silva, James, Jorginho, Kanté, Mount, Havertz, Sterling & Gallagher

Everton: Andros Townsend, Seamus Coleman, Asmir Begovic, Yerry Mina, Tom Davies and Dominic Calvert-Lewin are all injury concerns, while Salomon Rondon is suspended.

Chelsea: Armando Broja, Ross Barkley and Timo Werner are the main injury concerns for the visitors.
