Chelsea will welcome AC Milan to Stamford Bridge on Sunday afternoon in what will be their final pre-season friendly before they kick off their new 2025/26 Premier League campaign at home to fellow London-based side Crystal Palace next weekend.
This will also be Milan's final pre-season friendly before they kick off their season with a Coppa Italia clash against Bari.
Chelsea have not had much of a pre-season, having played in the FIFA Club World Cup (CWC) in the summer, going all the way to lift the trophy after beating treble winners PSG 3-0 in the final.
Milan have won two of their three pre-season friendlies so far, beating Premier League opposition in Liverpool 4-2 but also losing 1-0 to Arsenal.

Chelsea vs AC Milan prediction: Blues to beat the Rossoneri?
Key stats
- Chelsea have won five games in a row at the time of writing.
- Milan lost two of their last three matches in all competitions at the end of the 2024/25 campaign.
- Chelsea have won the previous four H2Hs across all competitions.
Correct score prediction: Chelsea 2-0 AC Milan
Given how the most recent H2Hs have gone, and Chelsea's great form heading into this clash, we are expecting another fairly comfortable Blues victory on home soil. Milan have only conceded a total of three goals in their four pre-season friendlies so far, though, so we are not expecting too much goalmouth action here.
Pre-game odds and win probability: Chelsea trusted by bookmakers
- HOME: 1/1 (2.00) – 50.0%
- DRAW: 16/5 (4.20) – 23.8%
- AWAY: 9/5 (2.80) – 35.7%

As shown by the implied probabilities, Chelsea are strong favourites with bookmakers to win on their own turf. An AC Milan victory away from home can still be backed at just over 35%, while a draw is available at just under 24%.

Most recent H2Hs: Chelsea dominant
As mentioned before, Chelsea have won the last four H2Hs in total in all competitions. In fact, they have won five of the previous six meetings, which bodes well for the Blues getting another victory here.

Chelsea preview: Colwill injury a late blow
Chelsea have been rocked by the news that Levi Colwill has suffered an Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) injury, and so is now expected to miss the majority of the 2025/26 campaign.
He joins fellow central defenders Wesley Fofana and Benoit Badiashile on the treatment table, meaning that recent new signing from Ajax Jorrel Hato could be in line for a start, while central midfielder Enzo Fernandez is also missing for the Blues.
Predicted lineup: Sanchez (GK); Gusto, Chalobah, Hato, Cucurella; James, Caicedo; Neto, Palmer, Gittens & Pedro

Player to watch: Jorrel Hato

After the news of Colwill's ACL injury, Chelsea may have to call upon Hato sooner than they perhaps would have liked. The young defender is very versatile as he can play at centre-back as well as left-back, and the Blues may choose to throw him in against Milan in order to help him best prepare for Palace next weekend.
