Montreal return to league action looking to build on a run that has shown encouraging signs despite the absence of consistent victories.
Their dramatic 4-4 draw against DC United before the league pause demonstrated the attacking improvement they have made compared to last season.
Philippe Eullaffroy's side have suffered only one defeat in their last four MLS matches, although they remain without a victory in three league outings.
Even so, their home form has been considerably stronger, with all of their last three league wins coming at Saputo Stadium, while they have avoided defeat in four of their previous five home fixtures.
Montreal have already scored 22 league goals this season, leaving them just 12 short of their total for the whole of the 2025 campaign.
With a game in hand on several teams above them, they remain firmly involved in the race for the Eastern Conference playoff places.
Toronto travel to Quebec desperately searching for a result after enduring a miserable run before the mid-season break. Robin Fraser's side have lost five consecutive matches across all competitions and head into this contest on an eight-match winless streak in MLS.
Their away record has also become a major concern after five defeats in their last six league trips, including losses in each of their previous three.
Defensive problems have been the biggest issue for Toronto, who have conceded in 12 successive competitive matches.
However, they remain only four points outside the playoff places, meaning there is still plenty to play for if they can quickly rediscover some form during the second half of the campaign.

Seven of the last eight league meetings have seen two or more goals scored, making over 2.5 goals at 4/7 (1.57) a good pick.
