Celtic to win to nil

Celtic have beaten Dundee to nil in each of their last three clashes at Celtic Park.

Celtic will take on Dundee in the fifth round of the Scottish Cup on Saturday, 7 February, with Martin O'Neill still eyeing a domestic treble.

The hosts come into the match with the League Cup already in the bag and with renewed hope in the Scottish Premiership title race. A win here would leave them in a strong position ahead of the final three months of the season.

As part of our latest batch of Scottish Cup betting tips, check out our Celtic vs Dundee prediction below.

Celtic vs Dundee prediction: An easy afternoon ahead for the hosts

Key Stats

  • Celtic have won every home game they have played under Martin O'Neill this season.
  • Dundee haven't won a match at Celtic Park in 25 years.
  • More than three goals have been scored in three of Celtic's last four matches in all competitions.

Correct score prediction: Celtic 4-0 Dundee

Although this isn't a league fixture, Celtic should have a spring in their steps following Hearts' shock defeat to St. Mirren earlier in the week. Regardless of that, they should have far too much quality for Dundee.

Pre-game odds and win probability: Celtic are big favourites

  • HOME: 1/6 (1.17) – 85.7%
  • DRAW: 13/2 (7.50) – 13.3%
  • AWAY: 10/1 (11.00) – 9.1%

*odds from Ladbrokes, subject to change

The Celtic vs Dundee odds are indicative of a match that is a complete mismatch. Ladbrokes have given Celtic an 85.7% chance of winning the match, while Dundee have been given just a 9.1% chance of pulling off a cupset.

Most recent H2Hs: Advantage Celtic, but hope for Dundee

Celtic's record against Dundee since the turn of the century is formidable, particularly at Celtic Park. However, this current crop of Dundee players does have experience of beating Celtic, and very recently too, as they triumphed 2-0 over the Bhoys back in October.

Celtic preview: Will O'Neill rotate?

Martin O'Neill has some key decisions to make ahead of this one, as cup competitions are often an opportunity for fringe players at Celtic. One man who will almost certainly be given a chance is goalkeeper Viljami Sinisalo, who has been a regular in the cups since signing for the club. Alistair Johnston, Cameron Carter-Vickers, Jota, Marcelo Saracchi and Callum Osman are all out injured.

Predicted lineup: Sinisalo (GK), Ralston, Murray, Scales, Tierney, Bernardo, Hyun-Jun, McGregor, Tounekti, Nygren, Iheanacho

Last five results

  • Celtic 2-0 Falkirk
  • Celtic 4-2 Utrecht
  • Hearts 2-2 Celtic
  • Bologna 2-2 Celtic
  • Auchinleck Talbot 0-2 Celtic

Dundee preview: Key men ruled out

Steven Pressley would love nothing more than to have his full squad available for the challenge that awaits this weekend, but sadly for Dundee, this isn't the case. Billy Koumetio, Joe Westley, Clark Robertson, and Ashley Hay have all been officially ruled out.

Predicted lineup: McCracken (GK), Halliday, Astley, Graham, Wright, Dhanda, Congreve, Hamilton, Jones, Yogane, Murray

Last five results

  • St. Mirren 0-0 Dundee FC
  • Rangers 3-0 Dundee FC
  • Kilmarnock 1-2 Dundee FC
  • Dundee FC 0-1 Hearts
  • Dundee Utd 0-1 Dundee FC

Player to watch: Kelechi Iheanacho

Kelechi Iheanacho returned from injury at the end of January, and after two substitute appearances, he is now ready for a start. If Celtic can get Iheanacho firing, then he could turn out to be the difference maker in the race for the title.
