Celtic are poised to return with a sweetened offer for Frosinone winger Fares Ghedjemis after their opening salvo was turned down.

The Hoops remain locked in talks for the 23-year-old Algerian, whom Martin O’Neill Rodgers has identified as a priority addition to his front line.

Born in France, the fleet‑footed attacker rose through the youth ranks at Le Havre before moving to Italy in 2024.

According to Sky Sports (via Glasgow Times), Celtic saw a £6m bid booted back by Frosinone, who will play in Serie A next season.

Multiple sources have reported on the interest, including in Italy, but the Giallazzurri are said to be keen on keeping him within the ranks given his importance.

Frosinone will reportedly entertain nothing less than £8-10m for the winger. With two years left on his contract, the Italian side believe Ghadjemis’ value has the potential to double or even triple if he stays.

No improved offer has been formally tabled at this stage, but Celtic are confident to seal the deal with a renewed offer in the coming week. Local rivals Rangers are also keeping close tabs on Ghadjemis.
