Caykur Rizespor will continue their pre-season preparations in Slovenia on Tuesday as they build up for a fourth consecutive season in the Turkish Super Lig.

Recep Ucar's team managed an eighth-placed finish last time around, winning 10 of their 34 games and losing 13, with their struggles coming in defence as only four teams conceded more than the 52 goals they allowed.

They then turned their focus to a new campaign and underwent a busy summer of change, with Giannis Papanikolaou and key defenders Samet Akaydin and Casper Hojer leaving while Zakaria Ariss, Siaka Bakayoko and Ahmed Kutucu have joined the club.

A positive summer has started for the Karadeniz Atmacasi, who started with a win over Dinamo Batumi and a draw against Ezurumspor before beating Osijek 3-1 last time out with Dal Varesanovic, Qazim Laci and Mustafa Tosum on the scoresheet.

They will now step up their preparations with a tough test on Tuesday and will look for a third win in four friendlies.

Hull City meanwhile, headed to Slovenia to open their pre-season after sealing a return to the Premier League in 2025-26.

In their first season under Sergej Jakirovic, they won promotion through the Championship playoffs, finishing sixth having earned 71 points from their 46 outings, winning 21 and losing 15 of those.

A tough playoff semi-final against Millwall followed, and the Tigers progressed with a 2-0 aggregate win thanks to an away victory, before getting the better of Middlesbrough in the final with Oli McBurnie scoring the only goal.

A big summer transfer window ahead of their step up did start slowly, largely due to the World Cup, but they have been able to bolster their ranks with the signings of Jack Butland, Matt Targett and Japan international Hidemasa Morita, who may not be ready to feature on Tuesday.

They began the Slovenia trip and their friendlies with a 3-0 triumph over Konyaspor last week, with Enis Destan and Abu Kamara scoring alongside an own goal, and while rotating his squad Jakirovic will hope to see another friendly win and clean sheet on Tuesday.

Whispers predicts: Caykur Rizespor 0-3 Hull City

While Hull City did not concede a goal in three Championship playoff games, their top-six finish was thanks to their form at the top end of the pitch, scoring 70 goals before the playoffs, and they were able to score three in their first friendly. We back the Tigers to be free-scoring again in friendly conditions against Turkish opposition and can see them again getting over 2.5 goals.

Caykur Rizespor have been strong in pre-season thus far, but Hull City looked relatively comfortable against Konyaspor last time out and will back themselves to put another win on the board as they gear up for the Premier League. We tip Hull City to win the match.

After appearing off the bench during the widescale changes in their first friendly, Oli McBurnie may take a turn to start in Tuesday's game. He was their star man in attack last time around, scoring 18 Championship goals including the decisive one in the playoff final and is a good choice to score anytime if he plays the majority of the friendly.
