Peterborough – Cambridge preview: latest form, news, and potential lineups

Read all of the latest injury updates and team news for this duel, including our predicted Peterborough vs Cambridge lineups.

Peterborough

On Tuesday night Peterborough suffered their first defeat in the last 10 rounds (W5 D4) when losing 1-2 away vs Wigan. Posh played well early on but then some bad mistakes from their full-backs resulted in cheap goals being conceded.

Peterborough remain firmly in the promotion picture though and at home they collected 10 points from their last 4 matches.

Last season’s League One top goalscorer Clarke-Harris confirmed recently that he will be leaving the team in January. Since this happened he has been benched in 3 consecutive games and lately plays only 15-20 minutes. Youngster Jones leads the attack from the off right now.

Posh are pretty much at full strength with only 2 fringe players ruled out due to injuries.

Predicted Lineup:

Bilokapic (GK), Kioso, Edwards, Knight, Burrows, Collins, Kyprianou, Poku, Randall, Mason-Clark & Jones

Cambridge

Cambridge remain in the top half of the table but they lost form lately. The U’s won just 1 of their last 10 league games.

Some confidence was restored over the last few days though. Cambridge first beat semi-amateurs Bracknell Town 2-1 at the weekend in the FA Cup and on Tuesday night sounding 4-1 win was achieved vs Tottenham’s U21s in the EFL Trophy.

Cambridge face an uphill battle now and they are trying to avoid recording their eighth consecutive away defeat vs Peterborough.

Star playmaker Lankaster misses this trip as he is serving a ban. Striker Kachunga and left-back Dunk also won’t travel. They are both recovering after surgeries.

Predicted Lineup:

Stevens (GK), L. Bennett, Morrison, R. Bennett, Andrew, Digby, Thomas, Brophy, Ahadme, Cousins & Kaikai

Player to Watch: Kwame Poku

Peterborough’s attacking midfielder Kwame Poku has established as the main creative force of the team lately. Poku accumulated 3 goals and 5 assists in his last 6 starts. He had a major contribution, a goal or an assist, in 3 consecutive rounds. Can Poku be the difference-maker again in this one?
