🔥 Our Hot tip

Match result - Draw

Four of Brighton's last eight home games have ended in draws.

After a triumphant comeback against Galatasaray in the Champions League in midweek, Liverpool now turn their attention back to the Premier League and race to finish in the top five, as they prepare to take on Brighton & Hove Albion at the Amex Stadium at Saturday lunchtime.

Indeed, the Reds overturned a one-goal deficit from the first leg to win 4-0 at Anfield in the second and 4-1 on aggregate in the last-16 to set up a quarter-final clash with the holders Paris Saint-Germain.

However, their last result in the Premier League was disappointing as they were held to a 1-1 draw at home by relegation-threatened Tottenham, while Brighton beat Sunderland 1-0 away from home as they aim to break into the top half of the table.

Brighton's season is perhaps not going as well as some of the fans and Fabian Hurzeler would have hoped.

There were even some reports suggesting that the young manager could be sacked, after a string of really poor results throughout January and February.

🔍 Whispers Insight

BTTS has come through in the last four H2Hs at the Amex.

That included an FA Cup exit to Liverpool incidentally, where the Seagulls were well-beaten 3-0 at Anfield.

However, results have picked up a little since then, and Brighton will now be aiming to at least finish in the top half of the table come the end of the season.

Liverpool's season has certainly been underwhelming so far, as they have made a poor defence of their Premier League crown.

They are however still in the Champions League and FA Cup, and winning major silverware could well save the Reds' campaign.

🔍 Whispers Insight

Liverpool have kept just one clean sheet in six matches.

It could also save Arne Slot's job, as noticeable boos rang around Anfield after a disappointing 1-1 draw at home to Tottenham last weekend, and Liverpool simply cannot afford too many more poor results if they are to finish in the top five, which should at least yield Champions League football for next season.

However, heading to the Amex will be a tough test for them and they have not been too successful there in recent H2Hs, while their leaky defence could ultimately cost them again as they have actually conceded more goals than Brighton in the league, despite being seven places higher.

Whispers predicts: Brighton & Hove Albion 1-1 Liverpool

Liverpool have been installed as the 5/4 favourites with bookmakers to win this one, but after picking up just one point from their last two league games, we feel inclined to back against them.

Thus, a Draw at 11/4 with Betfred appeals to us more, and our 1-1 scoreline prediction is also available at 13/2.

We are not prepared to back too many goals in this game either, as nine of Brighton’s previous 11 league matches have produced two goals or fewer.

Under 2.5 goals at 6/5 with BetMGM therefore is also a market that we are willing to back.

In terms of player betting, Mohamed Salah is an interesting one as while he has not been at his best this season, evident by missing a penalty against Galatasaray, he also scored later in the match and boasts a great individual record against Brighton.

Indeed, the Egyptian has recorded 20 goal contributions in 20 matches against the Seagulls (G11, A9), and is both the record goalscorer (10) and assister (seven) against them in the Premier League.

Therefore, we are happy to back Mohamed Salah to score or assist at 11/10 with William Hill.

📈 Whispers' Tips

> Mohamed Salah to score or assist at 11/10 | Likelihood: Probable

> Under 2.5 goals at 6/5 | Likelihood: Possible

> Draw at 11/4 | Likelihood: Outsider
