🔥 Our Hot tip

BTTS - No

BTTS has not come through in three of Brentford's last four games.

After both being beaten 3-0 at Manchester City last time out, Brentford and Crystal Palace meet at the Gtech Community Stadium in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon.

The Bees' hopes of qualifying for the Champions League for the first time in their history took a blow with that defeat, although they are still in contention heading into their final two games.

Meanwhile, Palace's focus will be more on their upcoming Conference League final against Rayo Vallecano, although they too still have two league matches left to play.

Brentford vs. Crystal Palace key stats

  • Brentford are unbeaten in four home games (W1, D3).
  • Palace have lost their last three away league matches.
  • Brentford are also unbeaten in seven home H2Hs (W2, D5).

Brentford are still on for a remarkable season should they qualify for the Champions League, or even any form of European football for the first time in their history.

Keith Andrews has done an incredible job since the departure of Thomas Frank and a number of key players last summer, including Bryan Mbeumo, Yoane Wissa and former captain Christian Norgaard.

Boasting one of the better Premier League home records, they will fancy themselves against a Palace side who only played four days prior against Man City.

Most of Brentford's key players are available for the match, although the likes of Rico Henry will miss out through injury.

As for Palace, they have received an injury boost in that Evann Guessand has returned to training and is set to be involved.

However, Cheick Doucoure, Eddie Nketiah and Borna Sosa remain on the treatment table.

Having gone relatively strong against Man City and with their Conference League final coming up later this month, it will be interesting to see how strong Oliver Glasner goes for this game.

The Eagles have been poor on their travels of late though with three straight away league defeats, while they have also gone seven away H2Hs without victory.

Whispers predicts: Brentford 2-0 Crystal Palace

Brentford are 71/100 favourites to win, and while we agree with the bookies, these odds are too short for us to back.

Instead, our first bet is BTTS – No at 6/5, given the Bees have kept successive clean sheets in their last two home games, and Palace have failed to score in the previous two away.

Our next pick also ties in with the idea of a low-scoring affair, with Under 2.5 goals at 5/4 appealing to us with both sides not in great form and low in confidence.

Our final punt focuses on the corner market, and strangely despite Andrews' reputation as a set-piece coach and Brentford's relative strength in that area, the Bees' home league games are averaging a relatively low 8.8 corners per match.

Thus, Under 8.5 corners at 8/5 could also be worth a shot, while our prediction of a 2-0 Brentford win is available at 9/1.
