Dortmund's faint hopes of clinching the title were extinguished when they were beaten 3-2 by Bayern Munich in late February, though the fact they are 11 points behind the league leaders should not distract from their strong domestic season.
BVB's only two league defeats came against Bayern, and they head into the weekend's clash having won seven of their past nine top-flight matches, while they have also triumphed in six of their past seven league fixtures at Signal Iduna Park.
