Bohemian return to the European stage for the first time since 2021 on Thursday, when they kick off their bid to reach the UEFA Conference League league phase for the first time.
They earned a place in the first round of qualifying with a fourth-placed finish in the League of Ireland Premier Division in 2025, extending their wait for a first top-flight title to 16 years.
Alan Reynolds's team now find themselves in the midst of the 2026 term with more hopes of regaining the trophy, though, currently sitting second after 25 games with 43 points on the board, seven fewer than leaders Shamrock Rovers having scored a joint-high tally of 40 goals and allowed 27 at the other end.
After seeing their title charge harmed by back-to-back defeats in June, Bohs have bounced back in style with three straight wins and three clean sheets, firstly seeing off Shelbourne and St Patrick's before visiting Drogheda United on Friday and prevailing in a 2-0 triumph thanks to an own-goal and Douglas James-Taylor's finish.
With momentum back on their side, Bohemians will now park their league ambitions briefly and turn their focus to European qualifying, with hopes of taking a step towards the second round of Conference League qualifiers with a home victory on Thursday before next week's away leg.
Their opponents, meanwhile, are back in action for the first time since their domestic season came to an end in April.
St Joseph's earned their place in the first round of Conference League qualifying with a second-placed finish in the 2025-26 Gibraltar Football League season, falling nine points short of Lincoln Red Imps in their bid for a second-ever domestic league title and first since 1996.
That earned them a ninth entry into continental qualifying, all of which have come since 2017, and the Saints have won two of their last three first-qualifying-round ties in the Conference League, most recently taking on Cliftonville last year and winning 5-4 on aggregate after extra time and a pair of 2-2 draws.
The run was ended in the following round by Shamrock Rovers, and St Joseph's will now bid to kick off their 2026-27 season by putting that behind them and getting one back on Irish opposition in their upcoming tie, starting with a tough away trip.

Whispers predicts: Bohemian 4-0 St Joseph's
Bohemian have kept three consecutive clean sheets in the Irish top flight, while their visitors may be rusty in their first game back after the summer. We fancy under 0.5 St Joseph's goals at 2/5 (1.40).
St Joseph's have lost their two Conference League qualifying ties against League of Ireland Premier Division opposition in recent years 7-2 on aggregate and meet a second-placed Bohemian in form. We cannot envisage the visitors overcoming Bohs in Dublin. Bohemian are priced at 1/8 (1.12) to win the game.
Bohemian have scored seven goals in their last three League of Ireland Premier Division games and appear to be going from strength to strength in attack, having also earned a penalty which they failed to convert in last week's 2-0 victory. We see over 3.5 Bohemian goals as an interesting prospect at 9/4 (3.25) against a team who may be slow out the blocks away from home.
> Under 0.5 St Joseph's goals at 2/5 (1.40) | Likelihood: Likely
> Bohemian at 1/8 (1.12) | Likelihood: Likely
> Over 3.5 Bohemian goals at 9/4 (3.25) | Likelihood: Possible
