Blackpool vs Port Vale Lineups, Preview, and Team Information
Blackpool
There is no limit to what Blackpool wants to achieve this season with a possible promotion to the Championship as the ultimate goal. However, the team will need to find consistency as the long season drags along.
Possible lineup: Grimshaw, Casey, Ekpiteta, Husband, Hamilton, Morgan, Norburn, Carey, Lyons, Lavery, Beesley.
Port Vale
The visiting side will be one of the favorites for relegation which has been shown in their opening defeat of the season with Barnsley coming out on top in a 7-0 trashing. They did bounce back in their next game, however. Port Vale will need to adjust defensively or their journey in League One will be a short one.
Possible lineup: Ripley, Iacovitti, Jones, Smith, Grant, Ojo, Arblaster, Sang, Garrity, Chislett, Thomas.
Player to Watch: Shayne Lavery
The 24-year-old striker had a terrific start to the season scoring twice in the first game. It has been two years since Lavery joined Blackpool from Linfield in Northern Ireland and since then he scored a total of 14 goals in 71 matches played for the team. It's nowhere near as much Lavery got for his former club where he was on the scoresheet 37 times in 67 appearances.
Lavery started his youth career at Glenavon before joining the Everton U18 team and eventually moving to the U23 squad. However, he never reached the senior team as he was later loaned to Scotland's Falkirk before finally moving to Linfield on a free transfer. He has been capped by Northern Ireland nine times scoring once.
Starting lineups
Starting lineups are usually released 60 minutes before kick-off.
