Bermuda preview: Eyeing their first win of the qualifying rounds
Manager Michael Findlay announced a 23-man squad for the FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Cayman Islands and Cuba, with some players returning to the fold.
Deniche Hill, who plays for Leicester City’s U-21 side, was included in the Bermuda squad. The forward has played only once under Findlay, when he came on as a second-half substitute to replace Kane Crichlow against French Guiana in September of 2023.
Also back in the squad is Rahzir Smith-Jones, who scored 19 goals and provided four assists for Binfield in the just concluded season to earn his place back for Bermuda for the first time since 2019.
Currently occupying the last spot in Group A, Smith-Jones could inject some much-needed steam into the attack for the Gombey Warriors.
Predicted lineup: Eve (GK), Jones, Carpenter, Richardson, Hill, Lee, Martin, Clemons, Tucker, Smith-Jones & Russell.
