Barcelona Women come into this second leg of the Champions League quarter-final as the outright favourites to win the competition, and this is more than justified after their performance in Madrid last week.

If that wasn't enough, Barca rubbed salt into the wounds at the weekend by defeating their old rivals 3-0 in the league to open up a 13-point gap at the top of the La Liga F table.

As a result, the clash on Wednesday night will be the third El Clasico Femenino in eight days, and you would be a brave individual to bet against Barcelona making it three wins in three.

🔍 Whispers Insight

Barcelona Women have scored 20 goals across their last four matches.

What makes this Barcelona team so formidable is the fact that they have goal scorers all over the pitch. There have been seven different goal scorers across the two previous clashes with Los Blancos this week, and more could be on the way on Wednesday.

There may be a temptation to rest some players this week, but manager Pere Romeu may also want to put Real Madrid to the sword once again. Two players he won't be able to select are Laia Aleixandri and Aitana Bonmati, who are both out long-term with serious injuries.

As for Romeu's opposite number, Pau Quesada, a third humiliation at the hands of Barcelona in just over a week could result in the axe being wielded with Real Madrid's season now in tatters.

🔍 Whispers Insight

Real Madrid Women have only ever beaten Barcelona once before.

Even the most optimistic Real Madrid fan will concede that this tie is done and dusted, so the aim for Quesada and his players on Wednesday will be to just try and win on the night, or at the very least not lose.

While Los Blancos have fared well against most opponents this season, there is clearly a mental block and a significant talent gap when it comes to facing Barcelona. Across the five matches they have played against each other this season, the aggregate score is 19-2 to the Catalans.

Quesada will be unable to call upon the services of Teresa Abelleira and Signa Bruun due to injuries.

This Barcelona side is considered one of the best in Women's football history, and they rarely just win by a goal or two. Barcelona to win with a -2.5 handicap has been priced at 4/5 by Bet365.

While we have spoken a lot about Barcelona's attacking prowess, they are also rock solid at the back, with seven clean sheets in their last ten outings. Real Madrid to score under 0.5 goals has been priced at 5/6.

Ewa Pajor already has 26 goals to her name in all competitions this season, and she is priced at 8/15 to score anytime on Wednesday night.
