To be fair, Como have won four of four games in their preseason campaign, defeating teams like Ajax, Lille and Real Betis in the last three weeks.

However, Barcelona have also had a perfect preseason campaign, winning three consecutive matches while scoring a whopping 15 goals.

It is important to note that Barcelona won 11 of the last 12 Joan Gamper Trophies, and they won eight of those by at least a two-goal margin.

Pre-game odds and win probability: Barcelona are overwhelming favourites

  • HOME: 1/4 (1.25) – 80%

The Joan Gamper Trophy is Barcelona's annual exhibition match, which is held before their first game of the new La Liga season.

Como were invited this year, and this will mark the return of former Barca players like Cesc Fabregas, Sergi Roberto and Alex Valle.

Interestingly, this is the 60th edition of the Joan Gamper Trophy, and Barcelona won 46 of the previous 59. After a streak of 11 consecutive victories, they lost the title to Monaco last year.

Ahead of this encounter, Barcelona are the expected winners at 1/4 (1.25). Teams with these odds usually have an 80% probability of winning.

Barcelona and Como will meet for the first time this weekend.

Barcelona preview: No Lewandowski, no problem?

Robert Lewandowski is recovering from a muscle strain in his left thigh and will not be available for selection. The Polish forward will likely be replaced by Ferran Torres, while Lamine Yamal and Raphinha are expected to start.

In the goalkeeping department, new signing Joan Garcia is expected to continue between the sticks, with Wojciech Szczesny getting some minutes from the bench. These two will form the team's first and second-choice shot-stoppers this coming season in the absence of Marc-Andre ter Stegen, who will be out for months due to injury.

Predicted lineup: Garcia (GK), Kounde, Araujo, Cubarsi, Balde, De Jong, Pedro, Gavi, Yamal, Torres & Raphinha.

Como preview: Eyeing their fifth consecutive victory

Como put together a fantastic preseason run, which resulted in four wins out of four. They will conclude with a test against an in-form Barcelona side before opening the season with a Coppa Italia game against Sudtirol next week.

The Biancoblu strengthened this summer window by bringing in the likes of Jesus Rodriguez, Nicolas-Gerrit Kuhn, Jayden Addai, Maximo Perrone, Martin Baturina, and Jacobo Ramon to Stadio Giuseppe Sinigaglia. Some of these recruits could make their debut in this encounter.

However, long-term absentee Alberto Dossena remains unavailable. He is expected to also miss a couple of games into the new season.

Predicted lineup: Butez (GK), Van Der Brempt, Kempf, Goldaniga, Valle, Perrone, Baturina, Rodriguez, Paz, Diao & Douvikas.

Marcus Rashford scored his first goal for Barcelona in their 5-0 victory over Daegu last weekend. The 27-year-old has not scored in back-to-back appearances since April, so it will be interesting to see how he performs on Sunday night.
