Austria followed their 2026 World Cup qualification with back-to-back wins against Ghana and South Korea in the March international break. Ralf Rangnick's troops have been nothing short of impressive, winning eight of their last 10 matches across all competitions.
It is worth mentioning that the hosts are unbeaten in their last 13 home games (W10, D3), stretching back to November 2023. This will be their last home match before the FIFA World Cup, where they will face Jordan, Argentina, and Algeria.
Austria’s notable World Cup injury absentees include key central defenders Gernot Trauner and Maximilian Wober. Both players were omitted from the final 26-man squad by coach Rangnick due to delayed fitness issues.
Tunisia head coach Lamouchi, who was only appointed after Sami Trabelsi was sacked in January following the Carthage Eagles’ Africa Cup of Nations round of 16 disappointment, will look to test his squad in friendlies against Austria and Belgium.
Interestingly, the visitors have not conceded in two games under their new coach. Conversely, they have struggled in front of goal, managing only one goal in that stretch.
While Austria are making their first World Cup appearance since 1998, Tunisia are preparing for their third consecutive tournament. The North Africans will face Sweden, Japan, and the Netherlands in Group F.
Dylan Bronn made Tunisia's squad for the World Cup despite still nursing a knee injury, but the central defender is sidelined for this friendly alongside Montassar Talbi, who will miss the tournament's preparations due to personal reasons.
Historically, Tunisia have never beaten Austria. In their three previous meetings, Austria have claimed one victory, while the other two encounters ended in stalemates. That said, this will be the first clash between these teams since November 2007.

Whispers Predicts: Austria 1-0 Tunisia
At 11/20 (1.55), Austria are considered favourites by the bookmakers.
Given their recent run of results, coupled with Tunisia's struggles in front of goal, we are confident that the hosts will emerge victorious after all is said and done.
Moreover, we have established that both teams' recent games have mostly been low-scoring, so we fancy under 2.5 total goals at 4/5 (1.80).
Also, Austria to win-to-nil at 13/10 (2.30) could be worth a punt. This combination landed in three of their last five home games.
> Under 2.5 total goals at 4/5 (1.80) | Likelihood: Probable
