Atletico Madrid welcome Barcelona to the Riyadh Air Metropolitano on Sunday night for a crucial clash at the top of LaLiga, with just two points separating the sides ahead of the 12th matchday.

Hansi Flick's side lead the way at the top on 30 points, while Diego Simeone's side sit second on 28 and would move above their rivals with victory.

Both clubs boast squads packed with valuable talent, but how do their market values compare?

FootballWhispers explores the most and least expensive players at each club, with all valuations taken from Transfermarkt's latest available figures in November 2026.

Atletico Madrid vs. Barcelona squads: Market values

Barcelona have the most valuable squad, with Transfermarkt's October update taking their overall market valuation to approximately €1.296bn.

Atletico Madrid's squad is valued at around €696m, leaving a difference of approximately €600m between the two Spanish giants.

The gap reflects Barcelona's collection of highly rated young players, with several members of Flick's squad valued at €100m or more, while the Rojiblancos' highest valuations are concentrated among a smaller number of key players.

Despite the financial difference, Atletico's recent form suggests that the gap in market value will count for little when the two sides meet on Sunday, particularly with the opportunity to move to the top of the table at stake.

Atletico Madrid's record signing is Julian Alvarez, who joined from Manchester City in August 2024 for a reported fee of around €75m, potentially rising with add-ons.

Barca's most expensive signing remains Philippe Coutinho, who arrived from Liverpool in January 2018 for an initial fee of €120m, with add-ons potentially taking the deal to €160m.

Coutinho made just 76 LaLiga appearances for Barcelona and ultimately failed to live up to his hefty transfer fee, the former Villain now plays for Brazilian side Santos.
