Athletic Bilbao's struggles continued with a disappointing 3-1 defeat on Wednesday, in a match they finished with 10 men.

The Basque giants are now without a win in four consecutive league matches and are 13th in La Liga with a 2-3-3 win-draw-loss record.

On the positive side, Edin Terzic's men are unbeaten in their last three home games, keeping two clean sheets in the process. They will be without the injured Unai Eguiluz (ACL), Gorka Guruzeta (ACL), Oihan Sancet (calf), and Alvaro Djalo (illness), as well as the suspended Aymeric Laporte.

Getafe, on the other hand, suffered their first home defeat of the season earlier this week, as they were beaten 5-2 by Swiss side Lugano in the UEFA Conference League on Thursday.

Jose Bordalas' side have earned nine points from nine La Liga outings and are just two spots behind their hosts in 15th place. They have been the least efficient team in front of goal, having managed only five goals this season.

Interestingly, the Madrid outfit have been one of the league's worst travellers this season, as they have lost all their four top-flight away games without scoring a single goal.

Orel Mangala, Christantus Uche, and Zaid Romero are ruled out with injuries, while Djene Dakonam is suspended following his red card against Rayo Vallecano on Monday night.

Although Getafe won their last two meetings with Athletic Bilbao, they have only those two wins in the last 12 H2Hs (D7, L3). Interestingly, Athletic Bilbao are without a win in five consecutive encounters between these sides at this stadium, although, to be fair, four of those ended in stalemates.

Whispers Predicts: Athletic Bilbao 1-0 Getafe

Priced at 13/20 (1.65), Athletic Bilbao are considered favourites by the bookmakers ahead of this clash.

Getafe have lost all their away matches in La Liga this season, and despite Athletic Club's recent shortcomings, we are leaning toward the hosts for the win.

There were at least 11 corners in four of Getafe's last five matches, and this can be backed at 6/4 (2.50).

We also fancy under 2.5 total goals at 3/5 (1.60), as was the case in four of the hosts' last five matches and in seven of the visiting team's last nine games.
