Aston Villa vs Fulham prediction, odds & betting tips 28/09/2025
🔥 Our Hot tip

Under 2.5 goals

Fewer than three goals have been scored in six of Aston Villa's seven matches this season.

Aston Villa will take on Fulham in the Premier League on Sunday, 28 September, with the hosts still looking for their first win of the new Premier League season.

The Villains did manage to pick up a win in the Europa League earlier this week, though, so perhaps that could be the turning point of their season.

Fulham, meanwhile, are moving along nicely and certainly won't just roll over at Villa Park.

As part of this week's round of Premier League betting tips, check out our Aston Villa vs Fulham prediction below.

Aston Villa vs Fulham prediction: A low-scoring affair

Key Stats

  • Four of Aston Villa's last seven matches in all competitions have finished as draws after 90 minutes.
  • Fulham have drawn 40% of their Premier League matches this season.
  • Six of Fulham's seven matches this season have produced fewer than three goals.

Correct score prediction: Aston Villa 1-1 Fulham

Aston Villa may have won on Thursday night, but the fatigue from that match is bound to play a part here, which Fulham could take advantage of. The Cottagers don't have a good recent record against Villa, though, so predicting an away win here is difficult.

Pre-game odds and win probability: Villa are slight favourites

  • HOME: 5/4 (2.25) – 44.4%
  • DRAW: 11/5 (3.20) – 31.3%
  • AWAY: 23/10 (3.30) – 33.3%

*odds from Ladbrokes, subject to change

The Aston Villa vs Fulham odds are weighted in favour of the hosts, but not by much. Ladbrokes have given Aston Villa a 44.4% chance of winning the match on Sunday afternoon, while Fulham have been given a 33.3% chance of recording a victory at Villa Park.

Most recent H2Hs: Villa domination

Aston Villa should take great encouragement from their recent record against Fulham. The Villains have won each of the last five clashes between the two clubs, with Fulham's last win over Villa coming in October 2022. You have to go back to May 2018 for their last win at Villa Park.

Aston Villa preview: Doubts over Martinez

Emiliano Martinez is a big doubt for this one after the Argentinian goalkeeper didn't play against Bologna in the week due to a muscular injury. If Martinez isn't passed fit, then Marc Bizot will fill in between the sticks. Elsewhere, Amadou Onana is definitely unavailable due to a hamstring injury.

Predicted lineup: Martinez (GK), Cash, Konsa, Torres, Maatsen, Kamara, McGinn, Elliott, Rogers, Sancho, Watkins

Last five results

  • Aston Villa 1-0 Bologna
  • Sunderland 1-1 Aston Villa
  • Brentford 1-1 Aston Villa
  • Everton 0-0 Aston Villa
  • Aston Villa 0-3 Crystal Palace

Fulham preview: Dilemma at left-back

Marco Silva has a big decision to make at left-back as Antonee Robinson is now match fit again after knee surgery in the summer. However, Ryan Sessegnon has performed well for the Cottagers so far this season, so it won't be easy to drop him. New signing Kevin is ruled out with a shoulder injury.

Predicted lineup: Leno, Tete, Andersen, Bassey, Robinson, Lukic, Berge, Wilson, King, Iwobi, Muniz

Last five results

  • Fulham 1-0 Cambridge
  • Fulham 3-1 Brentford
  • Fulham 1-0 Leeds
  • Chelsea 2-0 Fulham
  • Fulham 2-0 Bristol City

Player to watch: Ollie Watkins

Rumours continue to swirl that Ollie Watkins is unhappy at Aston Villa, and his performances on the pitch certainly reflect a man who has become disinterested. To compound matters, the former Brentford striker missed a penalty on Thursday night, but he should be given the chance to bounce back this weekend.
