Marco Asensio is reportedly one of the players Paris Saint-Germain are keen to offload before the end of the transfer window, and Aston Villa are preparing a fresh attempt to sign the Spanish forward.
Asensio initially featured regularly under Luis Enrique after arriving in Paris in 2023, but gradually fell out of favour and was loaned to Villa during the January window. However, Unai Emery's side opted not to activate their purchase option, and the former Real Madrid man returned to PSG this summer.
Since then, the 29-year-old has attracted interest from various clubs, including Fenerbahce, Benfica, AC Milan, and newly promoted Serie A side Como. Despite that, no move has materialised, and Asensio remains on the books in the French capital.

Villa expected to return with £12.6m offer for Asensio
According to CaughtOffside, Aston Villa are ready to return with a new proposal worth €15m (£12.6m) including bonuses. However, as reported by Sky Sport, PSG are holding out for €20m (£16.8m) – a fee aligned with Asensio’s current Transfermarkt valuation.
Unless the Ligue 1 champions soften their stance, the Villans’ latest offer may not be enough to seal a deal.
Asensio, who is under contract at the Parc des Princes until June 2026, reportedly earns €14.5m (£12.2m) per year. PSG may be open to accepting a lower offer to relieve themselves of the player's substantial wages, particularly if the risk of losing him on a free next summer increases.
