Arsenal's dreams of a quadruple were quickly burst when they lost the Carabao Cup final to City, before losing to Southampton in the FA Cup.
The Gunners needed a response against Sporting, and got it through a late victory that ended the Portuguese side's 17-game winning streak on home soil.
Now, focus turns towards the Premier League again as they aim to win a first title in 22 years.
Bournemouth will not be easy ambition, as they are unbeaten in 11 league matches, though their last defeat in the division was a 3-2 loss at home to Arsenal.
Also, that unbeaten run which is still impressive, needs to be taken into context with seven matches ending in draws, including the previous five.
Failure to convert those stalemates into wins sees the Cherries languish in 13th place, although they have no fears of going down.
However, European places may be too far out of reach for them either, so Bournemouth could be staring at a mid-table finish.
Nonetheless, they will still be determined to cause an upset here, like they did last season by winning 2-1 at the Emirates in May.

Whispers predicts: Arsenal 2-0 Bournemouth
Arsenal are expectedly 9/20 favourites to win, but these odds are far too short for us to place a bet on.
Instead, we like the BTTS - No at 21/20 angle as a first pick, given the Gunners have kept the most clean sheets in the league (15) this season, and recently kept out Sporting.
Under 2.5 goals at 13/10 also appeals to us, as only one of Bournemouth's previous five away matches have produced over 2.5 goals.
In terms of a final bet, we like Declan Rice to score or assist at 13/8, as he has recorded a career-high seven league goal contributions (G5, A2) against Bournemouth, including a brace in the reverse fixture.
Overall, we are predicting a 2-0 win for Arsenal, which is available at 15/2.
> BTTS - No at 21/20 | Likelihood: Possible
> Under 2.5 goals at 13/10 | Likelihood: Possible
> Declan Rice to score or assist at 13/8 | Likelihood: Possible
