Key Arsenal and France defender William Saliba could be on the move next summer, with Paris Saint-Germain reportedly monitoring his situation closely.

Initially breaking through at Saint-Etienne, Saliba made the switch to Arsenal in July 2019. After a difficult start to life in North London, the centre-back impressed during loan spells in Ligue 1, first with OGC Nice and later with Olympique de Marseille.

Upon his return, he firmly established himself as a regular in Mikel Arteta’s starting XI. Still only 24 years old, Saliba has already made 137 appearances for Arsenal in all competitions, alongside 28 caps for the French national team. Following the 2026 World Cup, he could be ready for a new challenge.

PSG interested in bringing Saliba back to Ligue 1

As of 30 June 2026, Saliba will enter the final year of his contract at the Emirates Stadium. If no extension is agreed before then, the Gunners may be forced to consider a sale in order to avoid losing him for free the following year.

According to Caught Offside and several English media outlets, Real Madrid currently appear to be in pole position. However, PSG have reportedly expressed interest in the former Marseille defender.

Saliba is currently valued at approximately €80m (£68.5m), and while a return to Ligue 1 is not the most likely outcome at this stage, a significant offer from the French champions could change the landscape entirely.

This is one to keep a close eye on in the coming months.
