Before the opening of the winter transfer window, Arsenal have chosen to leave the door open for four players from their squad for January.

This season, Arsenal and Mikel Arteta have no more excuses for not winning a major title. Indeed, the Gunners completed an XXL transfer window with nearly £75m spent for only £8.5m recovered. Thus, the London club have a plethoric squad to compete on all fronts.

However, this massive recruitment has changed the status of certain players, who could well leave the club in the winter transfer window. According to the Daily Mail, Arsenal are open to the departures of four players from their squad, who have lost playing time at the start of this season.

Ethan Nwaneri towards loan exit, Ben White towards transfer?

This is notably the case for gem Ethan Nwaneri, who had become an important player during the previous campaign. The 18-year-old young English forward, who has notably been compared to Lionel Messi by Joe Cole, has only started three times, including twice in the EFL Cup, for one goal scored in nine matches.

The London club are therefore open to a loan departure for their attacking midfielder or winger, if the proposed conditions satisfy all parties. However, for the three other players who have been given the green light to leave, we are talking about a transfer. According to the same source, Ben White's situation would be closely monitored by several clubs.

Manchester City have moreover looked into this defender who is frustrated by his playing time with the Gunners, having only played six matches this season and been overtaken by Jurrien Timber at right-back. A departure is also being considered for Gabriel Martinelli.

Arsenal ready to part with Martinelli and Gabriel Jesus in winter window

A starter for four seasons on his left wing, the Brazilian has been hit hard by the arrivals of Noni Madueke and Eberechi Eze. He thus has only five appearances in Mikel Arteta's starting eleven since the start of this new campaign. It should be noted that, according to the same source, Saudi Arabia could come charging in for the 24-year-old player.

Still in the attacking sector, Gabriel Jesus has not played since the start of the season due to his cruciate ligament rupture in one knee that occurred last January. Whilst a return to competition is planned for early 2026 for the Brazilian striker, Arsenal intend to sell him permanently if a “suitable” offer arrives.

If this is not the case, the former Manchester City player will pack his bags the following summer, but a January departure seems to suit the 28-year-old player. The latter wants to benefit from significant playing time during the second part of the season to hope to play in the World Cup at the end of the season.
