Kazakhstan experienced heartbreak deep into the qualifying stages for Euro 2024 losing out to Greece for a crack at the final hurdle. Neither they nor Armenia will be present in Germany, but it will be interesting to see who comes out on top in this tight encounter.

Armenia vs Kazakhstan prediction: A chance to try new things

Key stats

  • Armenia are winless in nine consecutive matches
  • Kazakhstan have won four of their last five games
  • Havakakan have won 66% of the matches against Kazakhstan

Pre-game odds and win probability: Armenia clear favourites

  • Home: 19/20 (1.95) – 51.3%
  • Draw: 23/10 (3.3) – 30.3%
  • Away: 12/5 (3.4) – 29.4%

Armenia are the higher ranked side by FIFA, however, it was their opponents Kazakhstan who came closest to qualifying for their first-ever major tournament, although a thumping 5-0 defeat at the hands of Greece put a stop to those dreams.

These two sides are very well matched so we're finding it difficult to split them, but would favour Armenia due to their home advantage and thus, suggest a BTTS and Armenia victory. We do offer a far more sensitive list of free betting tips over on our dedicated page.

Last five H2Hs: Usually only one outcome

Armenia and Kazakhstan have met on six occasions throughout the years and it's the home side who have more often than not come out victorious. It's four wins for Armenia who have also not lost against their opponents since November 2007.

Armenia preview: A chance to impress their fans

Armenia have the perfect opportunity to send their fans off into the summer break without club or international football happy by snapping their nine-game winless run. It was a cruel 2-1 defeat way to Slovenia on Tuesday evening, but this fixture is much more winnable.

Predicted lineup: Cancarevic (GK), Mkrtchyan, Haroyan, Calisir, Davidyan, Hovhannisyan, Harutyunyan, Arutyunyan, Zelarayan, Briasco, Sevikyan

Player to watch: Edgar Sevikyan

The former Russian youth international has quickly become a mainstay in the Armenian national side. Edgar Sevikyan made his debut for Havakakan in October 2023 and has gone on to make a further six appearances.

Armenia's main attacking threat

Sevikyan got his first goal for Armenia against Czechia in March this year but was on the end of yet another defeat. The nimble attacker has been playing in both Russia and Hungary this season so has experienced all sorts of levels and different systems.

He's able to play on the wing or even through the middle if required – as he has done during his club career – so it will be interesting to see how he's deployed this time around against a beatable Kazakhstan team.
