Antwerp vs Westerlo prediction – Betting tips & odds

Hot Tip – Both Teams to Score

  • Four of the last seven meetings between these two clubs in all competitions have ended with both teams scoring.
  • Both teams have scored in each of Antwerp's last four fixtures in league and cup.

Another reason that we have backed BTTS as our main prediction is that four of Westerlo's last five matches have produced goals at both ends of the pitch.

Antwerp vs Westerlo team news

Antwerp

Antwerp had a tough game at home against Anderlecht last time out but managed to come away with a share of the spoils. Anderlecht took the lead after just eight minutes and looked like they had done enough to win the game until George Ilenikhena popped up with an eighty-ninth-minute equaliser for Antwerp.

Owen Wijndal had to come off in the first half of that draw and looks set to miss Saturday's game through injury along with Anthony Valencia, Jacob Ondrejka and Björn Engels.

Predicted Lineup: Butez (GK), De Laet, Alderweireld, Bataille, Coulibaly, Ekkelenkamp, Keita, Vermeeren, Janssen, Kerk & Ejuke

Westerlo

Westerlo beat Eupen at home 2-0 in their last league game thanks to a brace from Danish midfielder Nicolas Madsen. The Dane scored his sixth and seventh league goals of the season in the second half, the latter arriving in the form of a penalty. That was a big win for Westerlo who now sit thirteen in the table, two points above the bottom three.

Ravil Tagir, Josimar Alcócer and Ilias El Hari are all doubts for the trip to Antwerp due to injury.

Predicted Lineup: Bolat (GK), Reynolds, Bos, Bayram, Piedfort, Chadli, Neustädter, Sydorchuk, Madsen, Yow & Vaesen

Player to Watch: Vincent Janssen

Antwerp's former Tottenham striker top scores this season with eight league goals but has some work to do if he is going to beat his tally from the 2022/23 campaign (18).

Janssen has been in decent form of late, netting six goals in his last ten apperances for Antwerp in all competitions and we're backing the Dutch striker to put in another good performance against a Westerlo side that has a goal difference of minus eight.
