Leuven vs Anderlecht prediction – Betting tips & odds

Hot Tip – Anderlecht to Win

  • Anderlecht have won their last two encounters with Leuven, including a 5-1 win in October's reverse league fixture.
  • Leuven have lost three of their last six matches in all competitions.

Another reason that we have backed an away win as our main prediction is that the visitors have won their last two league games.

Leuven vs Anderlecht team news

Leuven

Leuven put in a very good performance at home to Eupen in their final game of 2023. Iceland's Jon Thorsteinsson opened the scoring after just two minutes and before the break, Youssef Maziz made it 2-0. Suphanat Mueanta added a third goal for the home side late on to round off a very impressive team performance.

Sofian Kiyine, Kento Misao, Thibault Vlietinck, Federico Ricca and Alexandro Calut are all injury concerns for the hosts ahead of Sunday's match-up with Anderlecht.

Predicted Lineup: Leysen (GK), Miguel, Pletinckx, Sagrado, Schingtienne, Schrijvers, Maziz, Banzuzi, Þorsteinsson, Braut Brunes & Nsingi

Anderlecht

An early goal from top goalscorer Anders Dreyer set Anderlecht on their way to three more points last time out against Cercle Brugge. Luis Vasquez added a second goal early in the second forty-five to end any faint hopes of a comeback for the visitors as Anderlecht ran out comfortable 2-0 winners.

Majeed Ashimeru and Amadou Diawara are at the Africa Cup of Nations, while Killian Sardella, Thomas Delaney, Jan Vertonghen and Francis Amuzu are all doubts for this weekend's match due to injury.

Predicted Lineup: Schmeichel (GK), Augustinsson, Patris, Debast, Arnstad, Rits, Dreyer, Leoni, Verschaeren, Stroeykens & Dolberg

Player to Watch: Anders Dreyer

Anderlecht striker Anders Dreyer is really enjoying his first full season with the Belgian giants.

The 25-year-old top scores for Anderlecht in the league with thirteen goals in just eighteen appearances and is in fantastic form right now with seven goals in his last seven matches in all competitions.

Dreyer hasn't hit double figures in a league season since the 2017/18 campaign with Danish side Esbjerg but really seems to have found a second home at Anderlecht. We're backing the striker to impress once again this weekend when Anderlecht make the trip to Leuven and wouldn't be surprised if Dreyer scored the winning goal.
