Belgium First Division A - Lotto Park

* Betting odds were correct at the time of publication but are subject to change

Anderlecht sit second in the First Division A table but the gap between themselves and the league leaders UnioN Saint-Gilloise stands at eight points, so there is no room for any slipups at home to Genk on Saturday.

Anderlecht vs Genk prediction – Betting tips & odds

Hot Tip – Anderlecht to Win

  • Anderlecht have won 60 of their 107 previous encounters with Genk, and have only lost on 28 occasions.
  • Genk have lost two of their last three away games in all competitions.

Another reason that we have backed Anderlecht to win as our main prediction is that the hosts are unbeaten in their last eight matches in all competitions.

Anderlecht vs Genk team news

Anderlecht

Anderlecht had to settle for a point away at Antwerp last weekend, despite leading for the majority of the ninety minutes. Theo Leoni scored his second goal of the campaign after just eight minutes to hand Anderlecht an early lead but the visitors failed to see their way to victory, conceding an eighty-ninth-minute equaliser.

Francis Amuzu, Thomas Delaney and Thorgan Hazard are the three main injury concerns for the hosts this weekend.

Predicted Lineup: Schmeichel (GK), Vertonghen, Augustinsson, Sardella, Debast, Rits, Dreyer, Leoni, Verschaeren, Stroeykens & Dolberg

Genk

Genk put in a four-star performance at home to Kortrijk last time out. Joseph Paintsil scored twice, while Yira Sor and Bryan Heynen also got on the scoresheet as Genk strolled to a 4-0 victory against the division's bottom club.

Goalkeeper Hendrik van Crombrugge won't be available this weekend due to injury and he is joined on the sidelines by Aziz Outtara.

Predicted Lineup: Vandevoordt (GK), Kayembe, Cuesta, McKenzie, Muñoz, Hrošovský, Heynen, El Khannouss, Paintsil, Sor & Fadera

Player to Watch: Anders Dreyer

Anders Dreyer is having a great season in front of goal for Anderlecht this season, scoring eleven times in the league from midfield.

One of the Danish contingent in this Anderlecht side, Dreyer is in his first full season with the Belgian club and has really helped to establish the Belgian giants as title contenders to Union Saint-Gilloise this season.

We're backing Dreyer to impress once again this weekend, possibly adding to his six goals in his last ten appearances for club and country.
