Over 1.5 Algeria goals

Algeria have averaged over two goals in their last six matches.

Uruguay will hope to return to winning ways when they take on Algeria at Allianz Stadium on Tuesday.

Marcelo Bielsa’s troops are without a win in three consecutive games and will hope to get some momentum going ahead of the FIFA World Cup in June.

Algeria, on the other hand, have won five of their last six matches and will fancy their chances against the two-time World Cup champions.

Ranked 28th in the world, Algeria were at their devastating best when they took on Guatemala last Friday at the Luigi Ferraris Stadium in Genova. That was the Fennecs’ first outing since losing to Nigeria in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.

Led by coach Vladimir Petkovic, the North African side demolished Guatemala 7-0, with Amine Gouiri and Riyad Mahrez among the goal scorers.

🔍 Whispers Insight

Algeria have lost only one friendly game since November 2022.

One of the most impressive stats from the game is that the two-time African champions scored from seven of their nine registered shots on target, an efficient return in front of goal that could determine their group stage success in the World Cup if maintained.

Coming off a brilliant win over Guatemala and facing Uruguay for the second time in history, after both sides met in a friendly back in 2009, the Algerians will not only look to mark back-to-back victories over the South American outfit but also use the encounter to fine-tune preparations for the coming FIFA World Cup.

There are no reported injuries from last Friday's game, which means Petkovic has a fully-fit squad to choose from. Goalkeeper Kilian Belazzoug and defender Sohaib Nair are still looking forward to making their debut for the national team.

Uruguay, meanwhile, avoided defeat against England at Wembley in their last outing, as a last-ditch penalty goal from Federico Valverde salvaged a 1-1 draw for Marcelo Bielsa’s side, a result that extended their unbeaten run against the Three Lions to four games (W2, D2).

🔍 Whispers Insight

Algeria have not been awarded a red card in 17 consecutive friendlies.

La Celeste will feature in the World Cup for the 14th time this summer, but there is work to be done for Bielsa, as his men are not as effective in the final third as they should be, considering the attacking options available.

Ranked 11 places above Algeria, this clash offers an opportunity for the Argentine gaffer to make some adjustments to the team and to maintain squad harmony ahead of the crucial games coming up.

Joaquin Piquerez was stretchered off against England, and the Palmeiras defender is not expected to be available here as a result of the injury.

Whispers Predicts: Algeria 2-1 Uruguay

At 2.30, Algeria are considered favourites by the bookies.

However, the visitors are without a win in three games, a stretch that includes a humiliating 5-1 defeat at the hands of the USMNT.

Algeria, in contrast, have been in sensational form, winning five of their last six matches while averaging over two goals. On that note, we believe the North African side will emerge victorious here.

Keeping in mind that both teams were on the scoresheet in three of Uruguay's last four games, BTTS - Yes can be backed at 2.05.
