AC Milan Double Chance
AC Milan seem to have found their feet after a shaky spell at the start of the year and among their string of positive recent results was a 1-0 win over Tottenham in the teams’ Round of 16 first leg meeting in Italy. Spurs meanwhile, have been underperforming under Antonio Conte their embarrassing cup exit at the hands of second-tier outfit Sheffield United highlighted the lack of confidence in their ranks. The Rossoneri are getting their act together and our first Tottenham Hotspur vs AC Milan prediction tips the Italian champions to avoid defeat in North London.
Under 2.5 Goals
AC Milan have stripped their game right back in recent weeks in their attempts to improve results, and with a focus on solid defensive work, they have produced the goods against teams like Monza, Spurs and Atalanta of late. Each of those victories were achieved by slender margins however, and under 2.5 goals were notched on each occasion. We expect Milan’s tussle with Tottenham to be just as keenly contested and a stake on under 2.5 goals for the second encounter on the spin between the clubs is advised at the prices on offer.

Tottenham Hotspur vs AC Milan Team News & Injuries
Read all of the latest injury updates, Tottenham Hotspur vs AC Milan lineups and team news for Wednesday’s Champions League contest below.
Tottenham Hotspur
Tottenham have issues in several areas to contend with ahead of this week's crucial second leg. First-choice goalkeeper Hugo Lloris is still sidelined through injury and Fraser Forster will continue between the sticks in the stricken French stopper's absence.
In defence, Eric Dier is suspended and cannot feature, while wing-back Ryan Sessegnon is injury and won't be available. In midfield, Yves Bissouma and key performer Rodrigo Bentancur are both nursing problems.
Antonio Conte is expected to stick to his tried and trusted 3-4-3 formation this week, with Oliver Skipp likely to partner Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg in midfield. Richarlison and Heung-min Son will battle it out for a place in the frontline alongside Dejan Kulusevski and Harry Kane. van Perisic and Emerson Royal should be deployed as the team's wingbacks.
Predicted Lineup for Tottenham Hotspur: Forster – Romero, Lenglet, Davies – Royal, Skipp, Hojbjerg, Perisic – Kulusevski, Son, Kane
AC Milan
Matteo Gabbia and Brahim Diaz are listed as possible injury concerns for Milan, while Tiemoue Bakayoko and Zlatan Ibrahimovic aren't registered as part of their Champions League squad and cannot play a part as a consequence.
Battle-hardened Dane Simon Kjaer could anchor the defence alongside the more inexperienced Pierre Kalulu and Malick Thiaw, while Alexis Saelemaekers and Theo Hernandez could be handed starting berths at wing back.
Ismael Bennacer and Sandro Tonali combine to make up a steely and silky central midfielder partnership for Milan, while Rafael Leao adds dynamism to the Rossoneri's frontline. Ex-Arsenal and Chelsea striker Olivier Giroud will hope to do some damage up front on his return to London.
Predicted Lineup for AC Milan: Maignan – Kalulu, Kjaer, Thiaw – Saelemaekers, Bennacer, Tonali, Hernandez – Diaz, Leao, Giroud
Players to Watch
Harry Kane
With just one goal in seven Champions League appearances this season, Tottenham talisman Harry Kane hasn’t been able to make the kind of impact on the continent he would have liked, however, he has another opportunity to produce some heroics today. The 29-year-old doesn’t have a vast amount of UCL experience, much to his own disappointment, though Kane still has enough talent in that right foot to punish any defence in the competition.
Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg
With Yves Bissouma and Rodrigo Bentancur out injured, Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg is Tottenham’s main man in midfield at the moment, and the Danish international will shoulder plenty of responsibility in the middle of the pitch for his team this evening. Hojbjerg is a well-rounded performer who can break up play and pick a pass with equal conviction.
Sandro Tonali
Italian international Sandro Tonali is a creative lynchpin in the Milan midfield and the 22-year-old will be tasked with setting the tempo for the Rossoneri once again in London. Tonali can really grab any game by the scruff of the neck and he will fancy his chances of controlling the game against a Tottenham engine room lacking a couple of its better operators.
Malick Thiaw
Malick Thiaw has largely been a peripheral figure at AC Milan following his switch to the club from Schalke last summer, though the young defender was offered a place in the team during an injury crisis and he hasn’t looked like letting go of his starting berth since. The 21-year-old is both combative and composed at the back and his ability to sniff out danger early should come in handy again in North London.
Brahim Diaz
Spanish schemer Brahim Diaz scored AC Milan’s winning goal in the club’s first-leg victory over Tottenham in Italy and Spurs struggled to contain the 23-year-old’s creativity at San Siro. That was Diaz’s only goal in the Champions League so far, and he will be targeting another in the return fixture this week. Diaz is in a race to be fit for this week's second leg, however.
Starting Lineups
Official lineups are usually released approximately one hour before kick-off.
