AC Milan will be hoping to pick up their second win of the 2025-26 Serie A season on Sunday at the San Siro when they face visitors Bologna, who will also be aiming to win for the second time in three matches.
The home side have three points following their 2-0 triumph against Lecce in late August before the international break, though their opponents also come into the weekend's clash off the back of three points, claiming aa 1-0 victory against Como on August 30.

AC Milan vs Bologna prediction: Productive hosts face visitors with goalscoring troubles
Key stats
- AC Milan managed to net twice in three of their four most recent competitive games, as well as in nine of their last 13.
- Bologna have scored one or fewer goals in 10 of their last 12 in all competitions, and they have scored just once in two league matches this season, and they have conceded at least three goals in three of their past six.
- AC Milan have lost their only home outing in Serie A this season, and a loss on Sunday would be the first time they have began a top-flight campaign with back-to-back home defeats in 13 years.
Correct score prediction: AC Milan 2-1 Bologna
It is difficult to see Milan losing for a second time at the San Siro in two games, and given they have often found the back of the net, perhaps they can take advantage of Bologna's struggles in the final third.
Pre-game odds and win probability: AC Milan predicted to win by the bookmakers
- HOME: 10/11 (1.91) – 52.4%

AC Milan preview: Goalscoring woes without Cunha
Manager Massimiliano Allegri is no stranger to Italian football having claimed six Serie A titles – he first of which was won as Milan boss in the 2010-11 season – and his side have triumphed in five of their past seven league matches.
Allegri will no doubt be tempted to name signings Christopher Nkunku and Adrien Rabiot in the first XI, while midfield veteran Luka Modric could also be selected.
Predicted lineup: Maignan (GK), Tomori, Gabbia, Pavlovic, Saelemaekers, Loftus-Cheek, Modric, Rabiot, Estupinan, Pulisic & Nkunku
Last five results:
- Lecce 0-2 AC Milan
- AC Milan 1-2 Cremonese
- AC Milan 2-0 Bari
- AC Milan 2-0 Monza
- Roma 3-1 AC Milan
Bologna preview: Inconsistent form for some time
Though Bologna have the same number of points as AC Milan, the last time they won consecutive league games was in March, a period encompassing 10 games, three draws and five losses.
With summer addition Ciro Immobile injured due to a thigh issue, expect Santiago Castro to feature up front.
Predicted lineup: Skorupski (GK), Zortea, Vitik, Heggem, Miranda, Freuler, Ferguson, Orsolini, Odgaard, Cambiaghi & Castro
Last five results:
- Bologna 1-0 Como
- Roma 1-0 Bologna
- Bologna 1-3 Genoa
- Fiorentina 3-2 Bologna
- AC Milan 0-1 Bologna
Player to watch: Christopher Nkunku
Christopher Nkunku endured a difficult time in England, starting just 11 times in 2024-25 and 2023-24 combined for Chelsea.

The Frenchman is yet to play a game for AC Milan, and the Italian side will hope that he can replicate his RB Leipzig form, where he scored 36 times in his last two seasons.
