GA Lottery Review April 2026: Games, Withdrawing Winnings & Mobile App

I’ve reviewed numerous lotteries and gambling sites across nearly a decade, so I’ll put my knowledge to use in comparing the GA Lottery platform to other state lotteries available across the country.

Here are the main features of the GA Lottery app and website, based on my personal experience and research.

The Georgia Lottery was established in 1992. Since then, it has expanded to include 167 retailers and generates over $1 billion in annual revenue. The Georgia Lottery’s profits are used to fund educational initiatives, including the HOPE Scholarship and the Pre-K program.

All winnings from the Georgia Lottery are subject to both federal and state taxes, with federal rates up to 37% and local state taxes of 5.19%. The actual payout percentages vary, but if you choose a lump-sum payment, you’ll end up with around half of your winnings.

The Georgia Lottery doesn’t support a wide range of payment methods as you might find at online casinos, but it’s pretty comparable to other online state lotteries.

However, one great thing about Georgia Lottery banking options is that all of them can be used for both deposits and withdrawals. If you deposit using PayPal, you can also withdraw using PayPal.

I opted for PayPal, and my deposit was instant, but my withdrawal took four days.

Claiming Winnings and Withdrawals – What We Found

For winnings up to $600, you can use the deposit method you used to withdraw your winnings. However, for prizes of $601 or more, you must claim in person at a retailer or a Georgia Lottery office. Prizes up to $25k can be claimed at the ATL airport. Alternatively, you can make your claim by mail.

Prizes from $250k – $500k can only be claimed at a Georgia Lottery office. You must arrive before 4:00 p.m. to receive your winnings on the same day. Prizes of $500k+ must be deposited into your bank account electronically, which is processed in 5 to 10 banking days.

Keep in mind that all prizes expire after 180 days (if they are unclaimed). Diggi game prizes expire even sooner (90 days).

Georgia Lottery comes with plenty of Diggi games, as well as the usual draw games you’d expect. I found that both the mobile app and website function well for playing any game in the library.

That said, let’s take a closer look at each type of game you’ll find at Georgia Lottery.

Draw Games

Playing draw games through the Georgia Lottery platform offers more than just the ability to buy a ticket. You get to use an interactive menu when picking your numbers, including a random number generator. You can also check winning numbers in the ‘Winning Numbers’ section.

Of course, a winning ticket purchased through the app or website is treated the same as one bought from a retail location. The only difference is that you won’t have a physical ticket in your hand, but a digital one instead.

I played several draw games through the GA Lottery mobile app, including multiple Powerball plays in an attempt to tackle the massive jackpot. The odds of hitting the big one are 1 in 292,201,338, but the overall odds of winning are 1 in 24.87, with the smallest prize being $4.

Diggi Games

Georgia Lottery offers 141 instant games, which the platform refers to as Diggi Games.

The Diggi games are well-designed and hold up to modern slot games in terms of graphics and gameplay.

I tested nearly every Diggi game over the past couple of months, starting on October 3rd. I played every day until I started writing this review and discovered some games I really liked, as well as others I didn’t like as much.

Prices per play range from $0.10 to $30. Some games are essentially slot games, while others are different, such as 5 Card Poker and Texas Hold ‘em Champions Edition. It’s not to have a variety of game types for the instant games rather than having all of them be reels.

You can demo any game without even needing to be logged in. On the thumbnail of each game is an ‘I’ symbol, which is used to open the game rules and odds. RTP (Return to Player) isn’t listed as a percentage, unlike most online casino games. You are instead given the odds.

For example, the game Cats Jackpot has overall odds of 1:4.56, meaning you’ll win something once out of every four or five plays. Jackpots and prize structures vary game to game.

At the time of writing, the largest progressive jackpot was $918k (shared among multiple games). Prize sizes are dynamic for most games, meaning if you bet a lower amount, your potential prize shrinks.

Quick Win Games

The Georgia lottery has 11 quick-win games to choose from. Rules and odds vary from game to game, but they are similar to scratchers in that you get the numbers you’re given. If the numbers match the winning numbers, you can win prizes of various sizes.

The price per play ranges from $2 to $10. Many games have rolling progressive jackpots that build with each ticket purchase.

Second Chance Games

Certain losing scratchers can be used to play second-chance games. In the Second Chance Games section, you’ll find a list of active games that you can play. Save your losing scratchers in case you can use them for another chance at a prize!

To determine how the Georgia Lottery’s odds compared to those of others and how they fared on their own, I tested a wide range of games. Here are my findings.

Diggi Games Odds Comparison

I appreciated that the Georgia Lottery displays the odds structures for every game, including the Diggi games and draw games. I compared the odds for these games with those of other online lottery sites.

There’s a wide variety of game types, each with its own odds structures and rules. I found there’s generally more transparency at the GA Lottery than at the Michigan Lottery, with odds per prize displayed readily and clearly.

The overall odds for Diggi games range from 1:3 to 1:4.5 at the GA Lottery and from 1:3.25 to 1:4.75 at the Michigan Lottery. That doesn’t tell the whole story, though, as the likelihood of hitting the biggest prizes should be weighed more heavily.

The GA Lottery displays a chart detailing the number of plays of top prizes remaining per game. Michigan Lottery provides the prize structure for each game within the game settings only after you launch, and with fewer details on how easy or difficult each prize is to hit.

For example, Michigan Lottery games will tell you how much you’ll win for certain prizes, but not how many plays it’ll take to hit. The Georgia Lottery has the edge in terms of instant game odds and transparency of its odds.

Draw Game Betting Tools & Options

The Georgia Lottery offers a Hot & Cool numbers section for many draw games. For Cash 3, the current cool numbers are 574. This could be helpful information, especially for box/any order bets.

In addition to the biggest draw games, I also tested the 6-way box for Cash 3 with several sets of numbers, one of which coincided with the current Hot Numbers (928 at the time I tested it). The platform included a Winning Numbers section, where you can view past winners, along with an Odds and Prizes section that details the payout for each winning selection.

Although each winning selection is designed to be totally random, it’s possible to spot trends and patterns within the winning numbers, such as the frequency of odd versus even numbers, double-digit winners, and so on.

There’s obviously no guarantee that any pattern or trend will continue, but if an edge can be found, you’ll have full access to the data points needed to see it.

Game Frequency and Drawing Schedule

You’ll find some of the same games across various state lottery platforms. The biggest draw games, such as Powerball and Mega Millions, are the main attraction, with drawings taking place three times a week for Powerball and twice a week for Mega Millions.

Here’s a summary of draw times and days for each draw game:

The GA Lottery app works well, but it’s nothing to write home about (like most state lottery apps). It’s a basic, mobile-friendly version of the platform you get from using a browser to visit the main site. However, there is one notable feature that you can find on the mobile app, but is absent from the browser version of the platform—the ticket scan tool.

The app will ask for permission to access your device’s camera. Then, you can use your phone’s back camera to scan the bar code on any ticket—draw game or scratcher—to see if it’s a winner.

The tool is a neat addition that saves you time if you’re the type to accumulate a pile of tickets each time you visit a Georgia Lottery retailer.

Apart from this perk, the app is simple. You can use it to buy tickets or play games while on the go. Instant games take a while to boot up, but once they’ve loaded, they run smoothly. It helps, of course, if you have a capable device. Older devices may experience some lag when playing Diggi games.

The app is available for iOS or Android. I used an iOS device to play games and buy draw tickets, version 5.7.9. There’s a separate Lottery Results app, which you don’t need if you have the Georgia Lottery app, since it includes that plus the ability to play games.

App Store Reviews – What Users Are Saying

Unsurprisingly, both app stores have a lot of negative reviews from people who lost playing Diggi games. Despite this, the app has a 4.2/5 rating on the Google Play Store from 3,860 reviews as of April 2026. On the Apple App Store, the app has a rating of 2.9/5 based on 4,900 ratings.

Common complaints include the need to log in each time the app is opened, bugs interrupting gameplay, and other issues related to the app’s stability. Other lottery apps, such as the VA Lottery app, have slightly higher ratings on the App Store, averaging around 4.6/5.

This could be due to the automatic log-out issue, since other lottery apps don’t have complaints about that. There are no official responses to complaints on the GA Lottery app download page within the app stores. The app is government-run, so that isn’t surprising.

In my experience, the app occasionally experiences glitches during certain games. I haven’t had any issues with payments or location services on my iPhone. I have had to sign in each time, though, which is a nuisance.

One comment said: “Payment methods don’t always work, especially PayPal. Location accuracy can be a bit off when you’re near the GA border. An app update wipes out biometric auth settings, although such settings could easily be saved. However, the app has definitely improved over time, such as when it implemented the ability to be updated from the Google Play Store.”

Another GA Lottery review said: “Constantly asks for geo location, but if you just keep trying to purchase, it eventually will go through, so it makes me believe when the system is under heavy pressure of people trying to buy at the same time, the system can’t handle it and defaults to error of allowing location/geo location! GA Lottery is government owned and operated, meaning it’s totally legit and trustworthy. It’s self-regulated and abides by strict age and location protocols for each player.
