Key Stats
- We have a stalemate in the head-to-head department, as the three official games between the two teams resulted in one victory for the Rapids, one for St. Louis City, and one draw.
- 10 of St. Louis City’s games this season resulted in ties.
- We saw goals galore in two of St. Louis City’s last three games.
Correct score prediction: Colorado Rapids 1-1 St. Louis City
The only official game between the two teams at DSG Park ended in a 1-1 tie. Seeing as St. Louis City is the team with the highest number of draws in 2024, we believe that a 1-1 draw on the 8th of July should be the case.
Pre-game odds and win probability: Armas has the knowledge to achieve something ambitious
- HOME: -138 – 56.7%
- DRAW: +305 – 23.3%
- AWAY: +355 – 20.0%
*These Colorado Rapids vs St. Louis City odds are subject to change
Colorado Rapids’ odds are priced at -138, giving coach Chris Armas’ players a massive 56.7% win probability ahead of the kick-off. In the meantime, coach Bradley Carnell’s team is sharing the spoils left and right, and we believe a tie at +305 isn’t as ludicrous as one might initially think. The chances of that happening are estimated at approximately 23.3%.

Colorado Rapids team news and form: It’s time for Armas to prove himself
The Rapids’ manager has plenty of issues to deal with. First of all, Kevin Cabral saw the red in the match against Los Angeles and will miss the game against St. Louis City. Second of all, Daniel Chanon is injured and won’t partake in this event either.

St. Louis City team news and form: Attacking difficulties burden Bradley Carnell
St. Louis City’s manager won’t be able to count on three of his key attacking players – Rasmus Alm, Celio Pompeu, and Tomas Ostrak. All three are injured and this will give the substitutes hope to get some more minutes among the starters.

Player to watch: Indiana Vassilev
As we mentioned earlier in our Colorado Rapids vs St. Louis City predictions, many of Carnell’s key attacking players are injured. Understandably, this makes Vassilev a prime candidate for a starter’s position. Vassilev already scored three goals and supplied teammates with four valuable assists this season.
Second player to watch: Joao Klauss
We have the Brazilian goalscorer down as the second player to watch, as he is a force to be reckoned with. So far, he found the net on only five occasions but we know he can do better than that.
