Key Charlotte vs Colorado Rapids Predictions for MLS

Out-of-shape Charlotte hosts Colorado Rapids in a dire attempt to steal much-needed points. Will the newly established MLS side succeed? Find out in our exclusive Charlotte vs Colorado Rapids betting tips below!

Under 1.5 Goals

We’ll preface our Charlotte vs Colorado Rapids prediction by saying that the two teams have faced only once. The game on the 24th of April, 2022, ended with a goalless tie that the fans certainly didn’t appreciate.

Charlotte are a newly established team and the two teams will yet have chances to cross swords. Both Charlotte and Robin Fraser’s boys have been horrible this season. The two teams are orbiting around the bottom of the table and one thing is certain – neither one of them can afford to lose any more points.

And if that’s not a solid foundation stone for our prognosis, we don’t know what is. Even Colorado Rapids’ last game was a narrow 0-1 victory over Sporting KC.

Charlotte to Win

Yes, the visitors’ last match was a thrifty 0-1 win against Sporting Kansas City but that’s not a reason for you to dismiss our Charlotte vs Colorado Rapids prediction. Victory or not in their last game, Sporting Kansas City are hardly a serious opponent this year. The team from Kansas is at the bottom of the table in the Western Conference with no victories in seven official games. It would’ve been concerning if Colorado Rapids didn’t get the three points at Children’s Mercy Park on the 9th of April.

Charlotte odds: +102 – 48.0%

Draw odds: +265 – 27.0%

Colorado Rapids odds: +250 – 25.0%

Newly established Charlotte’s odds stand at +102 which makes them the expected winners on Sunday against Colorado Rapids with a 48.0% likelihood of stealing the basket full of points. The visitors’ odds are alluring at +250 but the 25.0% win probability isn’t worth the risk.

Charlotte vs Colorado Rapids Lineups & Team News

Charlotte

With so many key players out injured, it’s no wonder why Charlotte are struggling in the Eastern Conference. Kristijan Kahlina has been wonderful at keeping the ball away from Charlotte’s net but his back injury forced Christian Lattanzio to rely on George Marks and so far, the youngster’s efforts aren’t paying off. However, with the head-to-head record between the two teams being as it is, we feel that our key Charlotte vs Colorado Rapids prediction will be a success.

Predicted lineup – Marks (GK), Afful, Tuiloma, Malanda, Lindsey, Bender, Bronico, Vargas, Copetti, Swiderski & Jozwiak

Colorado Rapids

After seven official MLS games, Robin Fraser’s boys won once, lost three times, and three games ended with no winner. It’ll be interesting to see If Rapids’ 0-1 victory over Sporting Kansas City last week will serve as a motivation booster for the game at Bank of America Stadium or not.

Predicted lineup – Yarbrough (GK), Wilson, Maxso, Abubakar, Rosenberry, Acosta, Ronan, Nicholson, Alves, Rubio & Lewis

Player to Watch: George Marks

Kristijan Kahlina’s back injury will take him out of the equation for Charlotte for a couple of more weeks. With his hands tied, coach Christian Lattanzio opted to make a few changes at the back with youngster George Marks as the starting goalkeeper at the expense of seasoned Pablo Sisniega. So far, it’s not working. Charlotte have averaged 2 goals conceded per game and it will be interesting if the 23-year-old will turn his season around with a solid performance over Colorado Rapids.
