The company opened in New Jersey in 2018 and expanded to the Canadian online betting market in 2022. Fox Corporation and Boyd Gaming own a 17.6 and 5 percent share, respectively, in FanDuel.

Unfortunately for bettors outside of Canada's most populous province, the FanDuel sportsbook is only legal in Ontario as of October 2024, hence our focus on the best features for the FanDuel Ontario review.

FanDuel Sign-up Offer
Promotions and sign-up offers differ by province. None of the promotions mentioned here are available for Ontario users.
The FanDuel sportsbook & casino Canada has several unique sign-up offers, including a “No Sweat First Bet” up to $1,000. After new users deposit at least $10 and wager on a single event or parlay, they receive their total loss amount back in bonus bets if the bet is unsuccessful.
This provides a risk-free first bet, although bonuses are awarded in different denominations instead of one bonus bet. For example, a player who loses a $25 “No Sweat First Bet” will receive five $5 bonus bet credits. Fo a $1,000 loss, players receive 10 $100 bonus bet credits.
The bonuses are paid within three days of the bet settlement. Players have to use them within a three-week period.
FanDuel Loyalty Program
While we found no evidence of a loyalty program for our FanDuel Canada review, the operator does have a VIP Program for high-volume bettors. VIP bettors receive their own personal account manager, exclusive promotions and bonuses, and, in some cases, tickets to FanDuel Ontario events and local team games, including:

FanDuel Promotion for Existing Customers
FanDuel doesn't only offer promotions and bonuses to new users. For our FanDuel Canada review, we noticed a few offers for existing users, most notably the “Refer A Friend” reward, which earns the qualifying player and their friend sportsbook and casino bonus bets.
By clicking the blue “$100 Refer a Friend” button on either the FanDuel app or the Destop site, existing users generate an exclusive referral URL to send to potential new players. After the new player makes a deposit and a sports wager of at least $25 within four weeks, both the new and existing users receive $50 each in bonus bets and casino bonuses.
The sportsbook bonus bets expire within 14 days and the casino bonus has a 1-time playthrough requirement. Players can only receive this bonus five times.
Parlay Insurance
Another great promotion and feature for the FanDuel Canada review is Parlay Insurance. New and existing FanDuel sportsbook Ontario, users can earn a maximum of $25 in cash refunds if they miss only one leg of a 5+ leg parlay.
There are restrictions, however. Each leg of the parlay must have a minimum of -200 odds, while same-game parlays and parlays made with bonus bets are not eligible. Other ineligible bets include odds boosts and futures wagers.
