Rapid Vienna preview: Caused a shock in Turkey

Rapid Vienna will have been delighted to come away with a 1-0 lead in their Europa League qualifying match first leg against Turkey.

The game looked like it might end goalless as the two teams had failed to make a breakthrough after the hour mark but Lukas Grgic was set up by Rapid's veteran forward Guido Burgstaller in the 67th minute and the Austrians took the lead.

Trabzonspor had been the favourites to win the first leg and to progress into the play-offs but now the show is on the other foot.

Trabzonspor preview: Appear to be lacking match fitness

Trabzonspor have looked slightly sluggish throughout their Europa League qualifying campaign and that spilled over into their opening league game of the season away at Sivasspor.

That game ended goalless and it arrived just days after the Turkish side had lost at home against Rapid Vienna. Two games without a goal and a tricky trip to Austrian on Thursday evening means that Trabzonspor will have to up their game if they are to make it through to the Europa League play-offs.
