The most impressive name on that list is undoubtedly that of Cristian Calderon. The former Chivas Guadalajara left-back was featured in 15 Apertura games for the Goats, but his talents were deemed not enough for a new deal with the club. Luckily for the Eagles, he landed a three-year deal with the club.

Rogelio Funes Mori boosting Pumas was also a surprise, as the 32-year-old Liga MX veteran had a couple of wonderful campaigns with high-flying Monterrey.

There are a couple of top Liga MX transfers this winter that we should talk about and Gabriel Fernandez’s three-year deal taking him to Estadio Azteca is undoubtedly the most important one. Cruz Azul had to pay the astonishing €8.90m for the 29-year-old goalscorer, but he surely has the quality to bring success back to Estadio Azteca.

We also have a rather surprising deal from Monterrey this winter, who compensated Pat Noonan’s Cincinnati with €6.85m for their key player’s services. During the 2023 Major League Soccer campaign, Brandon showed he has the quality to be among the best players in the league. We can’t wait to see him perform at Estadio BBVA as well.

Federico Pereira’s name also finds a place on our Top Liga MX transfers list, as he was introduced into Toluca’s squad in exchange for a mind-blowing €6.33m deal. He put pen to paper on a three-year deal and we are sure that he’d be more than eager to prove he can be a starter for his manager this season.

Potential Liga MX transfers this winter

As you saw from the information above, Liga MX’s teams don’t shy away from a transfer battle and are ready to spend lavish amounts of money on their transfer priorities. Given that the transfer window in Mexico closes on the 1st of February, we could see some more top Liga MX transfers during the 2024 Clausura.

Could we see Henry Martin boosting another Liga MX side? Maybe Andre-Pierre Gignac’s career at Estadio Universitario is over and the French veteran will switch Tigres for another Mexican team? Or perhaps the massive spending will continue, as Liga MX teams bring in more talent from outside the league. We have yet to find out if we will have more outstanding Liga MX transfers this season, but there’s plenty of time for new deals to be forged.
