Everton: Latest Transfer Rumours

All the latest transfer rumours for players potentially coming in or leaving the Toffees in the next transfer window. We delve deep into the web to report on all the reputable sources that have posted stories about Everton and their future incomings and outgoings, giving each of them a rating out of 5 as to how likely they are to go through. The Toffees are amongst our  Premier League predictions, but don't forget to also check out FW's  football betting tips.

Arnaut Danjuma: Everton win race for Villarreal man *UPDATE*

As reported last week, Arnaut Danjuma is a name that has been on Everton's radar for a little while and it is now understood that he will be an Everton player in the coming days with a loan deal all but done. His time on the grass in Spain hasn't been particularly regular but Everton fans will be keen for him to continue his impressive scoring rate of one every 136 minutes.

FW Rumour Rating: 5/5

Hakim Ziyech: Lampard links makes loan possible

Hakim Ziyech moving from Chelsea to Everton this month might sound a ridiculous rumour but there are reports to say Frank Lampard wants a loan deal explored. Chelsea have gone transfer mad this month pushing Ziyech further down the pecking order and, despite interest from other Premier League clubs, it’s believed that the Lampard connection could be enough to turn Ziyech’s head Everton’s way. If he does rock up at Goodison then he’ll be an improvement on what the Toffees have in the final third right now and will bring some dead ball quality too.

FW Rumour Rating: 3/5

Chuba Akpom: Blues target Boro striker

With relegation now a real concern for Everton signings that could work for them in both leagues are possible. Chuba Akpom fits that bill. The former Arsenal youngster has been ripping the Championship up so far this season with a total of 13 goals and, as such, several top flight teams are monitoring his situation with Everton among those suitors. Akpom himself hasn’t exactly poured cold water on links either as he’s spoken of his desire to play in the top tier. A big fee will be needed though and with Michael Carrick having turned Middlesbrough fortunes around in recent weeks, Akpom might see promotion as his best route to the promised land.

FW Rumour Rating: 2/5

Michail Antonio: Linked but unlikely?

Michail Antonio won’t need much introduction to fans who follow the Premier League with the powerful forward often stealing the show at West Ham for one reason or another. Despite his cult status with the Hammers it is suggested he could be on the move this month with the versatile attacker rather sparingly used by ex-Toffees man David Moyes. Whether West Ham would be willing to let him move to a club that could be considered in the battle for relegation with them remains to be seen though.

FW Rumour Rating: 2/5

Boulaye Dia: Toffees and Hammers to battle it out for Dia

Interestingly given those Antonio linked it is rerouted that Everton and West Ham could soon be battling it out for Boulaye Dia. The Senegalese international has performed well in Serie A this season with 10 goal contributions to his name for Salernitana. Any deal won’t be simple though. Although Dia is turning out for Salernitana right now, he is actually a Villarreal player. That means any agreed deal would also have to involved the Yellow Submarine triggering a loan cancellation.

FW Rumour Rating: 3/5

Anthony Elanga: Poor form could scupper loan move *UPDATE*

We have previously brought you news of Everton’s admiration for Man United’s Swedish winger and now it’s understood that his potential exit from Old Trafford has progressed. Despite reasonably limited game time, Man United have struggled for real depth in certain areas meaning they couldn’t afford for Elanga not to be there. On Friday though they announced a deal for Dutch forward Wout Weghorst, who ironically was on loan at Besiktas with Dele Alli, and thus have opened up the potential for someone to move on. Elanga on a loan deal looks the most likely outcome; the only question is his destination with Borussia Dortmund now entering the race and with United reportedly holding concerns of the environment he'd be walking into at Goodison.

FW Rumour Rating: 3/5

Mads Hermansen: Backup keeper on Everton radar

Most fans will know the name Anthony Elanga. That isn’t true of Mads Hermansen. Hermansen is a 22-year-old goalkeeper who Everton reportedly see as good understudy and long term replacement for Jordan Pickford. The Danish keeper plays his football for Brondby and he’s impressed massively for the club notably being named as their player of the year in 2022. With exposure to European football in the shape of the Champions League playoff rounds and Conference League proper along with youth international experience through to the under 21 team, Hermansen is now believed to be ready for a move. At present, contract talks with Brondby have stalled and that could see him available for a cut price fee this month. Bournemouth, Fulham, Napoli and PSV have all watched him as well.

FW Rumour Rating: 4/5

Tim Weah: Everton among clubs interested in US international

The desire to add at the sharp end of the pitch is burning bright in Everton and the latest name to be linked is USA attacker Timothy Weah. Weah currently plays his football in France for Lille. His record this season of no goals in 11 appearances won’t set the pulses racing but the 22-year-old son of former Ballon d’Or winner George Weah did catch the eye during the USA games in Qatar last month. With the transfer fee being demanded reportedly just £13.5m, it is fair to suggest he could prove a relative steal given what his ceiling as a player could be. Several Premier League clubs along with Sevilla in Spain are said to be keen.

Last Week's Rumours

Arnaut Danjuma: Everton chase Bournemouth flop

With 10 appearances and two goals in La Liga this is the sort of striker that would fit right in at Everton in 2023, isn’t it? We’re only heating. There is more to Arnaut Danjuma than that which meets the eye through stats. For starters, whilst two in 10 is a true stat, you can spin his numbers a very different way. Across all competitions this season, Danjuma is averaging a goal every 136 minutes – that’s not half bad. If he arrives at Goodison the faithful will get behind him but after a failed spell with Bournemouth not all that long ago he might not set the pulses racing.

FW Rumour Rating: 4/5

Danny Ings: Experienced attacker linked with Villa exit

Would Everton fans accept a former Liverpool striker joining their ranks? If he scored the goals that dragged them to safety then the answer is surely yes. Danny Ings, who is currently with Aston Villa, is a name being thrown around with a fair bit of gusto at the moment. Ings has six Premier League goals to his name this season including bagging a brace in the first game of the post-Steven Gerrard era. Despite that, he has found himself very much as a but part player under Unai Emery and rumours say the former Southampton man could be open to a move.

FW Rumour Rating: 4/5

Anthony Elanga: United youngster could be Goodison bound

Manchester United outcasts rocking up at Goodison Park is a path that’s been trodden a few times in the past but this one might excite a few Evertonians. Anthony Elanga could be the next. He has been involved under Erik Ten Hag this season but his league minutes are starting to dry up a bit and they’re certainly not at the level they were at the back end of last campaign, where he impressed. Given the profile of the player – and Everton’s budget – it wouldn’t surprise at all if he’s high up on Frank Lampard’s list of targets.

FW Rumour Rating: 3/5

Viktor Gyokeres: Leeds and Everton battling it out for Championship star

Everton have been mentioned in connection with Coventry’s Viktor Gyokeres for a while now but it remains to be seen whether a deal will get done. The Swede certainly knows where the net is in the Championship having netted 17 goals last season and, at this stage, stands on 12 league goals for the 2023/23 season. It’s not just his goalscoring that will appeal to Everton though with Gyokeres regularly earning praise for his all round game. Leeds are also reportedly interested.

FW Rumour Rating: 2/5

Dango Ouattara: Three way Prem race on for Lorient forward

Attacking threat is clearly the desire for the Toffees this month with Lorient attacker Dango Ouattara also heavily linked. At this stage, talks between the two clubs are limited with Everton having just made an initial enquiry into the Burkino Faso born winger’s availability. With five goals and five assists from 16 Ligue 1 games, the 20-year-old, who can also play centrally, evidently has something about him. With other Premier League sides also reportedly interested, it remains to be seen whether Everton can compete financially albeit some reports of an £18m bid having been lodged suggest they’ll have half a chance.

FW Rumour Rating: 3/5

Terem Moffi: Will West Ham beat Everton to striker with 10 Ligue 1 goals to his name?

Terem Moffi is another Lorient forward, which immediately makes it unlikely that both he and the aforementioned Ouattara arrive at Goodison Park. Moffi is more of an out and out striker with his relentless workrate something that is widely applauded. With 10 goals in 16 games, Moffi is clearly doing something right, however, as with so many names on this list, Everton aren’t the only club interested. Former Everton boss David Moyes is also known to be an admirer with West Ham rumoured to be plotting a £22m move.

FW Rumour Rating: 3/5

Nathan Broadhead: Broadhead heads to League One in seven-figure deal

It’s been a while since Nathan Broadhead was actually with Everton owing to various loan spells away from the club. Now though the promising youngster has left the club on a permanent deal. Reports broke last week that Everton had recalled Broadhead from his loan spell with Championship Wigan amid interest from Sunderland and Ipswich regarding a permanent deal. Ultimately, the 24-year-old versatile forward has joined League One Ipswich in a reported £1.5m deal.

FW Rumour Rating: Done deal

Tom Cannon: Cannon joins Preston on loan

Despite working desperately to add to their attacking ranks, Lampard and co haven’t been shy about thinning their academy products. Broadhead is one that’s gone and Tom Cannon has headed off on loan too. The 20-year-old impressed for the under 23s in the Papa John’s Cup games earlier this season netting five goals and that clearly caught the attention of several lower league clubs. Cannon will now spend the next few months with Championship Preston.

FW Rumour Rating: Done deal

Michael Keane

At the other end of the pitch, Michael Keane is reportedly a target for Nathan Jones at Southampton. The 29-year-old has only played 22 minutes of Premier League football this season so the club will almost definitely be open to offers for the former Man United centre back. Just how sweet that pot will need to be for the Toffees to sell him to a relegation rival though remains to be seen.

FW Rumour Rating: 4/5

Everton History and Information

Everton FC are a football team that currently play in the English Premier League. They're based in Liverpool, with Liverpool FC their biggest rivals. They play their home games at Goodison Park, are nicknamed the Toffees and are currently managed by Carlo Ancelotti. Everton are one of only six clubs to have competed in every Premier League season so far, although they were close to relegation in 1994 and 1997, finishing just two points outside the relegation zone.

They have a rich history that dates back to their foundation in 1878. In fact, Everton was one of the founding members of the English Football League in 1888. Since then, Everton competed in the top flight of the English football for a record-breaking 117 seasons, only missing four of them in the process.

The Blues have also never been relegated from the Premier League since its foundation, although they still wait for their first title in the competition. To date, Everton has won 9 domestic league titles, which puts them in the 4th place in the all-time list of champions, in front of teams that have been successful lately like Chelsea and Manchester City.

The club has also won one FA Cup and one European Cup Winners’ Cup so far. Everton played its games at the Anfield stadium until 1892, just like their town rivals Liverpool. After that, Everton moved to Goodison Park where they still play even today. Their current manager is the legendary Italian Carlo Ancelotti.

Everton Transfers

Romelo Lukaku from Chelsea for £28m in 2014

After failing to prove himself at Chelsea, Lukaku was bought by Everton for a then-record transfer fee of £28 million. He was first tested by coming on loan for a season, but this proved to be a brilliant move since the Belgian striker continued his great form after signing for the club permanently. After four seasons and 68 league goals, Lukaku moved to Manchester United for a fee of around £75 million.

Lucas Digne from Barcelona for £18m in 2018

The French left-back joined Everton after spending two years at Barcelona, where he played sporadically and collected 29 games in the league. However, his Everton career was completely different – he is an indispensable member of the first team, missing only 6 games in the Premier League in his first two seasons at the club.

Mikel Arteta from Real Sociedad for £2m in 2005

Mikel Arteta arrived at Everton on a loan but the move was quickly made permanent for a fee of just £2 million. The creative central midfielder spent seven years at the club, becoming the focal point of Everton’s offence as their main playmaker. He joined Arsenal in 2011 for a fee of £10 million.

Tim Cahill from Millwall for £1.5m in 2004

Getting one of the club’s best goalscorers for just £1.5 million is certainly one of the biggest steals in Everton’s transfer history. The Australian forward became the top goalscorer in his first season and he bagged 56 league goals in his career with the Toffees.

Gylfi Sigurdsson from Swansea City for £40m in 2017

Splashing £40 million for Icelandic midfielder in 2017 proved to be a good move for Everton since Gylfi quickly became an important part of the first team at Goodison Park. So far, he has played in 108 league games for the team. This is still the highest fee that Everton ever paid for a player.
