RC Celta de Vigo also called “Célticos,” means The Celts/Celtics are a professional Spanish football team. They compete in the La Liga, and they never won a league title or a Copa del Rey title, but they did reach the final of Copa del Rey three times since they are a team. The team's best position is fourth during the 2002/2003 La Liga, which successfully qualified them for the 2002/2003 UEFA Champions League. Unfortunately, they were eliminated in the round 16's by Arsenal. Fourteen years later, during the 2016/2017 UEFA Europa League, they reached the semi-finals but lost to Manchester City. Their current head coach is a retired Argentine footballer – Eduardo Coudet, who replaced the previous coach Óscar García Junyent in 2020.

Significant Transfer news in Celta de Vigo’s History

Summer and Winter transfers are an essential time in football for each player. Celta Vigo has made some great transfer news over the years, to and from their club. Below, we have listed the most notable ones, in our opinion.

Henrique Guedes da Silva Catanha is a former football striker who played for Celta from 2000 to 2004. He was there during the most successful period in the club's history. He came from Malaga for the sum of £14.42 million. Before he left the team for good, he was loaned out to the Russian squad Krylia Sovetov, and one year later, he moved as a free transfer to Belenenses.

Emre Mor is a newer addition to the Celts as a forward or a winger. He joined in 2017 from Borussia Dortmund for the fee of £13 million. Borussia sells so many players that this transfer barely made the news. Mor is one of the most expensive transfers in the team's history, and although technically he is still a part of the team, Mor was loaned out to Galatasaray and Olympiacos. He made a total of forty appearances for Celta Vigo but only scored one goal.

The Spanish midfielder Denis Suárez came up in the Celta youth teams, and his first senior club was the reserve for Celta Vigo. A decade later, he was a part of teams like Barcelona, Manchester City, Villarreal, and Arsenal. He officially joined the Celts' A team in 2019 for almost £13 million. Since then, he made twenty-seven appearances and scored one goal.

Nolito is a Spanish winger and forward who currently plays for Celta Vigo. His first time with the team was between 2013 and 2016 when he made a hundred appearances and scored thirty-nine goals. He arrived from Benfica for £2.60 million, and in 2016 he went to Manchester City for €18 million. In 2020 he returned to Celta Vigo as a free transfer, and since then, he has scored two goals and made nine appearances.

Iago Aspas has been in Celta Vigo most of his youth and senior career. As a senior footballer, he played for the Celta reserve team from 2006 to 2009 and the leading team from 2008 to 2013. Liverpool bought him for £10.80 million, and in 2015 he came back for the sum of £5.30 million. During his time on the team, he made over three hundred appearances and scored almost a hundred and forty goals.
